In grad school one of my fellow students was LDS. When he inevitably offered some of us a copy of the Book of Mormon I said, I have a copy of that, but could you get me Doctrines and Covenants or Pearl of Great Price? He said he'd get back to me. Never did.

At an alum event a slightly tipsy woman was telling a campus bigwig that she was a *big* donor to the university. I butted in to say that I worked for the university for 19 years so I'm not a big donor.

Love that the terrible map uses the logo of the city of Frisco, Texas for the drink of the same name.

NASA’s Webb Examines Cranium Nebula - NASA Science Two heads are better than one in the latest images from NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope, which reveal new detail in a mysterious, little-studied nebula

Reminds me of that guy Jadzia went out with.

From the Star Trek episode "The Way to Eden," Mr. Spock and a space hippie are playing a musical duet. Mr. Spock is playing a traditional Vulcan lyre, while space hippie is plucking the spokes on a metal wheel.

Good to know the Lethelium will still be around in a few centuries...

I grew up in New Orleans and I think that overloaded my brain with place names that are pronounced differently than you'd expect. Even though I've been in Texas a combined total of 22 years I just try to avoid saying place names out loud because I'm always wrong.

Aliens at some point in the past came to Earth to abduct/recruit Seven's ancestors. Two other agents had visited Earth before Seven went to check up on them. And is Isis an alien? Alien-altered cat?

Same mantle, mischievous cat is at the other end, or is he? There is a collection of cat statuettes of various heights. One seems particularly life-life and innocent-looking.

Who, me, mischievous?

Dark wood mantle over stone-work fireplace, cluttered with knick knacks, including a model of the USS Enterprise (no bloody A B C or D). At the end of the mantle is a mischievous red tabby who is peering up at the valance over a patio door, trying to decide if he can ascend to those heights next.

Unlike @gonzo.bsky.social Hobbes does not have access to a hellocobber shelf. He has, however, managed to get to the interprize shelf

I'm using callcentric. They have a phone app for text messages. Voice mail emails me the audio. They also filter out spam and you can block numbers. Config is done online. I used to forward to Google phone to transcribe messages but I deleted my Google account last year.

Like I answer the phone LOL.

I have a secondary number, used to be VOIP, now goes to an app where I can get messages; calls directly go to voicemail. I give that number to businesses (and sometimes people) that I don't want to talk to but who might need to contact me. Setup was a bit complicated.
