Republicans are now suddenly planning to TAX renewable energy, transforming the repeal of the IRA from a challenge to a full-blown crisis for American solar and wind.
I spent the last 24 hours putting this story together to explain why.
Please share! This is really important!!!

it’s even more demoralizing when the history you’re repeating is history you were around for the first time
Now that we’ve seen the full Senate text, we can say for certain: either the House or the Senate version would be the largest transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich in a single law in history.
Each have the largest Medicaid and largest SNAP cuts ever. And each give huge tax cuts to the rich.
I think elected Democrats should ask themselves “what would Barack Obama do?” more often. And it’s pretty easy to hear him making a bunch of jokes about them and then switching to a serious point with “but here’s the thing” and then making the point about Medicaid cuts.
IRS’s Direct File wasn't open source while it was being developed. But somebody just made it public!
Yes. There needs to be a real reckoning with what positions on energy, immigration, and guns to name a few are needed to be competitive in these states. They are not my positions, but I’m not the median voter in Texas!
The ~700k people of DC:
—Pay more fed tax per capita than people of any state;
—Are more numerous than pop of WY or VT;
—Have zero votes in US House or Senate;
—Now being told by House GOP that we can't spend *OUR OWN* tax money, which we've already paid
Cut the BS Thanks @vanhollen.senate.gov
The speed with which Congress not having the power of the purse, law and the Constitution be damned, has been normalized by the press is the most terrifying thing to me.
To review what we from @washingtonpost.com are reporting out of the IRS today:
- Projected tax revenue this year is down 10% ($500 billion) as Trump's downsizing is emboldening tax cheats
- IRS is nearing an agreement with ICE to assist on mass deportations
All this business I am reading about social security is nonsense. My mom died on 2/18. My dad got a letter yesterday informing him her benefits were ending and he had to repay the February payment because they don’t give a payment in the month someone dies. They know where every dollar is.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is "watching" the outbreak, which he described as "not unusual" during a Wednesday meeting of President Donald Trump's cabinet members. The health secretary did not provide specifics on how or if the federal agency is assisting on the ground.
CDC chart of measles cases, showing a profound drop off after the vaccine was introduced in 1963 and an elimination declared in 2000.
No one had died of measles in America for ten years, until yesterday.
That 2015 death in WA was preceded by a 12y period of no US deaths. www.nbcnews.com/health/healt...
HHS Secretary RFK Jr. says it’s “not unusual.” apnews.com/article/meas...
It is unusual. www.cdc.gov/measles/data...
The language, as described, is superfluous. It is already constitutional and federal statutory law that the administration must spend the money that Congress appropriates. Congress’s power of the purse fundamental to our system of government. And yet, it’s a red line for Republicans to include it.
A few further thoughts on DOGE accessing the IDRS database at the IRS: I led the Treasury Office of Tax Policy and have spoken to a number of former career and political appointees at Treasury and IRS. None can recall a political appointee ever having access to this database. 1/5
This guy is literally trying to access your banking information via the IRS.

🚨 SCOOP: DOGE is seeking personal taxpayer data at IRS, sources tell me. 🚨
Trump admin is pushing IRS to agree to an MOU that would give DOGE access to granular data on every taxpayer, business and nonprofit in the country.
The Biden administration made final its long-awaited plan to offer billions of dollars in tax credits to companies that make hydrogen, in the hopes of building up a new industry that might help fight climate change.
At long last, the US Treasury Dept has finalized rules for the clean hydrogen tax credit (45V). home.treasury.gov/news/press-r...
In general, the rules are based on a strong set of environmental safeguards to ensure "clean" hydrogen is truly clean & provide the certainty industry needs to build.
