Music is a huge part of my book. One of my main characters is in a band that covers 60s and 70s rock.

Don’t have a one-night-stand with your manuscript. (Save that for your dreamboat MMC.) Make your words last.

I'm so glad that resonated with you! Most people don't get it.😂

I had no interest in being social. I don't know if that was related to my disability or not. I was lucky to be in a neighborhood that accepted me; I just like solitude. I do know I've loved words, reading, and writing forever. I would come home exhausted from school and write fanfiction for hours.
Not sure how broad your definition of AU is, but I wrote a story in which my characters visited "Zootopia" via a dimension-hopping machine.🤣 I love "Zootopia" and it was so much fun to write.
Just read this; thanks for sharing. I don't know what to say except that I'm surprised yet not surprised at the same time.
Agree to disagree. It's likely someone can only do one for a living, but the ability to write can inform editing and vice-versa. If someone writes--even as a hobby--and enjoys it, they are a writer, regardless of if or how they publish.
There are several feeds here on #BlueSky that are dedicated to #Editors and #Editing, including #FreelanceEditors. Sending out a well-worded request for rates, with a little description of your project, is a good start. You'll probably be besieged with responses.
Have you ever worked with an editor? What's a suggestion you got from one that really changed your book for the better? #WritingPrompt
Read this earlier today and couldn't believe it. It would be funny if it was a novel, but as real life? No thank you. This takes away human accountability ('my AI did it') and opens the door to more trolls.
Attribution: “Zootopia” and "Zootopia 2" are copyright Walt Disney Animation Studios and Walt Disney Pictures. “Zootopia” was written by Jared Bush, Byron Howard, and Phil Johnston. “Zootopia 2” was written by Jared Bush. Disney nor those named do not endorse my business, nor I theirs. (2/2)
I'm happy with my "Zootopia" fanfic universe for now, but it's been a month since I saw the sequel for the first time, and this micro-fic appeared in my brain last night. Another WildeHopps ship, of course.😊 (1/2)

#WritingLifeMonthly Speaking of inspiration, here's something just for fun--if there're any "Zootopia" fans out there who would like to read my fanfiction, I created a site for it. Be advised that I'm a WildeHopps shipper.😊 But my writing is more sweet than spicy:

Even though this is about a romance, it reminds me of a friendship I have. I met one of my best friends at a busy time in both our lives. We lost touch for years & reconnected at another mutually busy time. We got a second chance & have made an effort to check in with each other more often.

This is a beautiful piece. It tugs at my heartstrings in two ways. As a romance editor (and fan of the genre, of course) it feels like the beginning of a novel.

Remember, the story you tell is yours. How you tell it belongs to the genre where you wish to sell it. Writing is a craft that takes many forms. You, as writer, have full choice in the craft aspect of writing. Choices are not random or without thought.

Dean's a prankster. Sometimes his friends say he's too much, but lovingly. In my book, it's impossible not to like Dean. His constant levity means that when he's genuine/serious, it means a lot. You know he means it because he'd rather goof off.

I don't, either. The world is tough enough.♥️

If you're a #disabled #freelancer and have your own website:
1. Which host do you use?
2. Is it drag-and-drop, or is there coding involved?
3. If you use WordPress, do you find it easy to use?
I'm considering switching from Google Sites, but don't know where to start.
AI's like a bar of soap; it can help you clean up your writing.
But if you don't hire a human editor to rinse your manuscript well, it's bound to leave a sloppy residue behind.

Toys 'R' Us for sure! Nothing beat going in and taking stock of all the colors, shapes, and characters. Deciding what to get was always a tough decision , but a good problem to have!
From the Desk of Professor Donald Harper
Esteemed authors:
Are you seeking a romance editor? If so, Hannah can help. She edited one of my favorite books-- “Daisy’s Keeper”. It’s four love stories in one! She had her hands full.

Happy ending guaranteed! I also like to say that love (romance, but also friendship) is the closest we can get to magic in this life.♥️✨
I guess I'd write sci-fi. I usually say I like to read (& sometimes write) it because of tech's potential to make life better. But as I'm seeing less & less real-life inspiration, I wouldn't know where to begin. I could go nuts without romance to fall back on.😢
Finding an #editor should not be like collecting blind bags. You should know exactly what you're getting. At HAGOEDCO, what you see is what you get: a word-loving editor. I self-published my own romance novel, and you can, too!

I'm sorry I doubted you, Mia.
As someone who used to work in tech, I'm sick of AI.
If not for the fact that I personally know some people doing good with it, I might quit social media altogether.

I write primarily in first-person. My novel is just that, and two characters alternate chapters. So I focus on whoever is telling the story. As with life itself, I can only do one thing at a time.
