Testing out camera on new phone, it's Nothing really

Update. Got out. Things are worse now.
Found myself in some kind of average virtual carnival, unsure of how to get out

I now realise I haven't been posting much recently but I promise I still exist
Went to see peak cinema in IMAX this weekend
A marvel of a movie, blows me away every single time

Being normal about this
THEY'RE DOING AN UPDATE JUST FOR MEEEE I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THE WEREWOLF REVAMP FOR SO LONG IT LOOKS SO GOOD
Ok, terminally online rant about a children's movie over
Or 'they were clearly forced to take out the ending they were setting up'
And whilst I agree some changes were definitely made during production, I think this is the story they wanted to tell
To say otherwise feels as though you decided what the movie was going for 10 minutes in and switched off
Environmentalism is the easy thing for Disney to have her be - can you imagine a version of this where she's protesting a war? Or abortion rights? This is the approachable, understandable thing.
A lot of the takes I've seen say things like 'disney clearly made them change it'
Cutting the rest short, it is a movie about literally leaving your overwhelming world and body and touching grass, and realising that the world isn't full of villains
Mabel: 'everyone is good deep down'
[SPOILER]: 'do you really believe that?'
Mabel: 'I'd like to.'
But, alone, she is completely overwhelmed, everything is wrong and always getting worse and it's on her phone and the TV and she feels like no one is doing anything about it
Environmentalism is, to me, very clearly an example of what the film is actually about, a theme I'll refer to here as 'anti-doomerism'
Mabel is someone who CARES she is a young person that is constantly aware of and exposed to injustice in the world 24/7 and wants to do something about it
The central thing that's irked me about conversation surrounding the movie is that people are claiming it's a bad environmentalist movie
...without addressing that is isn't an environmentalist movie and find it hard to imagine genuinely paying attention to and finishing the movie and thinking it is
I need to talk about Hoppers for a minute - whilst I don't think it's the best movie ever, I think so much of the 'discourse' around it is very faux-intellectual and clearly based in both a bias against Disney (which is fair) and an inability to recognise when your expectations have been subverted
The COMPUTER WORLDS Steam Event also features a bunch of great games that have already been released - many with DISCOUNTS for the next week.

The Alan Wake 2 OST is now available to stream and download!
Including the haunting track "This Road (Falling Apart)" by @officialpoe.bsky.social, the music perfectly captures the twisted world of the Dark Place.
Now streaming: lnk.to/alan-wake-2

Love the look of this, got to pre-order
Excellent video from @secondwindgroup.com!
I hope it gets a few folks to watch NO OTHER CHOICE, which feels (as Darren rightly highlights) extremely undervalued in the awards season hubbub.
Should be right up there with SINNERS and ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER as far as inescapable discussion.
The more I hear about Control Resonant, the more I am convinced that SCP-3930 is going to be required reading before playing....

Bobo Bay - an indie game inspired by Sonic Adventure 2's Chao Gardens - has preserved all its previous demos + early builds publicly online.
Indie game preservation is something I vouch for a lot, and lost demos hurts my soul - great to see!

An image of a man facing away from the camera, wielding a giant hammer - presumably the character Amy's - and holding a film clipper board in his other hand. A neon pink number 4 is overlaid on top.
Sonic the Hedgehog 4 has begun filming, set to release in March 2027.
