Americans have seen, fought, & defeated this dehumanization before.

Here's a link to the SPLC, where you can learn more about both slavery and abolition.

(Yes, the abhorrent claims that enslaving other humans is necessary or merely acceptable have always been accompanied by abolition movements!)

I've seen reddit theories that the whole point of the new regulations were to make it easier for AI to use the internet. Based on timing of the ADA push/long standing WCAG rules I doubt that's the origin but I'm also sure it's a plus for the new admin

This reminds me of that anti-DEI article in C&RL which said larger social justice issues had nothing to do with libraries

Tell Congress: No More Tax Dollars for ICE & CBP Urge your representatives to reject more money for ICE detention.

ICE operates without accountability. More funding is a blank check to continue the disastrous and deadly actions we've seen in Minnesota, including reported violence against people with disabilities. Join us in telling the Senate: no more tax dollars for ICE and CBP! act.nilc.org/page/93101

With sorrow, we announce the passing of FOBAZI M. ETTARH 1989 - 2026.

At the very least, Congress must disarm ICE, prohibit it from using racial or ethnic profiling, end arrest quotas, remove agents’ immunity from criminal prosecution and civil lawsuits, and slash its funding. The Senate has the chance to rein in ICE this week.
