But I want to be very clear about this because although I am from the United States, I am not speaking for the United States. And I think that many advanced economies and many lower and middle income economies for that matter need to be just as concerned about the potential for geopolitical meddling and mineral coercion coming from the United States as they are coming from places like Russia or China. It's starting to look a little 19th century out there in the international system, and that is not a status quo ex ante we want to return to.

There is no point in dancing around this. @mdebolle.com and I recorded several months ago but the point is no less relevant today; new episode of @piie.com Policy for the Planet podcast on critical minerals and US critical mineral strategy. Available on your platform.
