Fridays were chippy days for us, & it really was great escape manoeuvres to get them! ๐Ÿ˜†

Ooh, shall have to set my mum on it - looks very much like the 1900s town shopping street buildings, so strong chance your grans place was in the Downton Abbey filming which is a nice claim to fame! There have been lots of changes at Beamish & now there's a whole 1950s bit I'm itching to visit...

Tiny inland township woes - we have chippies, but no seaside or lighthouses to bunk off to! I doubt they would have ever wrangled me into a classroom if I lived at the sea, I'd be too busy living my best mermaid life...๐Ÿงœโ€โ™€๏ธ

Ooh, & I thought mine were a bit fancy for having ground almonds in them instead of pin oatmeal! Shall have to give these ones a whirl! ๐Ÿซ–โœจ

Laughing in millennial - we used to jump the school back fence to go to the chippy & think we were naughty!

Hold on - your grans co op is one of the cafes? Which one? I adore Beamish! Haven't been since '21 when I stayed the night in some bonkers hotel dynamited out of a sea cliff with a tiny private pebble beach. The north is calling me! โœจ

You'll adore it when you get there! It really is silliness that gets cars stranded in need of rescue (if you can tell the time you will be fine) & the refuge is actually quite nice for taking pics at & enjoying the view from too (near drowning not required to visit it!) โœจ

Snaffle & scoff away please - a bit hotter for a bit longer in a normal oven should get them done. Thank you kindly, I'm trying to make myself write out half remembered recipes when I get them right before my goldfish memory forgets them - thumbprints are a northern classic for tea time treats! ๐Ÿซ–โœจ

Thank you kindly - canine cuddles in plentiful supply indeed! The social landscape is more than a bit lairy these days so enjoy your peace away! ๐ŸŒโœจ

On mossy & dandelion studded garden grass a yellow hand knit jumper is laid out, a ball of wool perched on one shoulder, & little embroidered flowers about the neckline.

๐Ÿงถ In need of a sitting still day so began stitching little flowers on the newly knitted chunky yellow jumper - the wool used has a lovely rustic roughspun feel, lending a folksy style to the embroidered blooms that with a bit more work will become a spring petal wreathed yoke...

โœจ Apologies - didn't mean to post & run yesterday - currently slowly recovering from sepsis damage & had a funny turn with a most unfunny fall to follow, so needing to be very gentle & restful with my silly little self!

You never know! The aunties in C.Cavan keep phoning to tell me they are getting old & I need to get over there so they can scold me in person a few last times - have been wondering about packing Dave up & having an Irish road trip when we are both better! Just the thought of Dave on a ferry tho...

๐ŸŒฟ Home gathered flowers for Friday - the garden here at the tiny terrace is in fine spring form offering up drifts of purple blooming honesty, green tendrils of fragrant thyme, fairy hat worthy spikes of bluebells, & eternal favourites of blue forget me nots...

๐ŸŒ Snippets from a snail slow life - buttery thumbprint biscuits baked with sea buckthorn jam (tastes both deliciously tart & tropical for those wondering!); knitting done on the yellow jumper so time to move to embroidery embellishments; a happy little garden gathered bouquet...

Oh, I miss those days! Lindisfarne is a bit fancier now on the food front which is probably safer for everyone's stomachs than dubious crab sarnies... ๐Ÿฆ€

Did see a rescue on the causeway when I was small & everyone who was watching the tide come in tutted them & resolved then to just never be the fool needing helicopters & boats launched because of my own silliness! They do seem surprised that water is wet & gets deep...
