Restricting disability benefits kills disabled people.
So if youāre advocating that we make the system harsher, harder, more inaccessible, less āgenerousāā¦
Youāre advocating for killing disabled people.

Far too many people resort to sexualising literally everythingā¦
Itās super immature and quite pathetic really.
No, a body isnāt inherently sexual.
No, clothes arenāt inherently sexual.
No, we shouldnāt be sexualising childrenās bodies.
No, gender identity isnāt sexual.
Making a system like disability benefits harder to ādefraudā, absolutely makes it harder for disabled people to get that support that they need.
And actually, it does very little to address the āfraudā⦠and almost exclusively harms the most vulnerable
Under the current PIP criteria, if you are able to put something into the oven, but not able to actually clean up after preparing it, you donāt get anythingā¦
So you can apparently cook without support even if you have to do it in a dirty kitchen.
Totally
What, the folks pushing transphobia are the same folks as want a handmaid's tale dystopia? Surely not?
For some people, out of work benefits are a vital temporary safety net.
For others, they are the only option someone has to live.
New post: LABOUR'S SECTION 28 IS HERE - ACT NOW.
I explain how the Labour government's proposed revisions to the guidance on "keeping children in education" are designed to erase trans children in England. But it's not a done deal - there is plenty we can do to oppose this.
Completely agree with you, minimum wage should be an absolute minimum for anyone
Benefits are the money of the person receiving them, to spend however they need and choose to.
All benefits should be seen as fundamental entitlements for anyone who qualifies.
Agree however I think PIP should always be separate and additional as thatās about the additional costs of being disabled.
Another study has found new evidence that Trans+ athletes have little competitive advantage, concluding there is no evidence āto justify blanket bansā. A comprehensive study of over 5,000 Trans+ athletes, has found that trans women likely do not have athletic advantages over cisgender women after undergoing hormone therapy. Published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, it found that while trans womenā showed higher levels of lean mass than cis women.
The researchers found that there was no evidence "to justify blanket bans" and called for policies to "remain dynamic, guided by evolving evidence and ethical imperatives"
The significantly positive economic multiplier of disability benefits is proof that they arenāt too āgenerousā, or āeasy to getā.
Because I tās proof that disabled people spend their disability benefits⦠they donāt hold it, they donāt save much⦠itās spent as they need it.
If someone is assessed as unable to work due to disability, they should receive a minimum of a liveable income.
Itās not their choice, they canāt change their circumstances, so they should not be punished.
This should not be controversial.
More like democide tbh
A huge unsung army in the UK is all the unpaid carers who keep the health and social care system afloat whilst being paid a maximum of £2 per hour for it (reality a lot less).
All the disabled people who keep local and national businesses going.
Without them, society collapses.
If a child doesnāt feel able or safe to tell their parents something, believe them.
They may be misguidedā¦
But they might not be.
Iād rather be wrong, than see a child get abused because their parents have been told.
A pissed off parent is preferable compared to an abused child
Think this is pretty common for us disabled folk⦠but the worse I feel, the more āstupidā stuff I do.
Itās distraction, plus a āfuck it Iāll feel shit anywayā sort of thing, I think⦠mixed with not giving a shit any more.
Everyoneās body is different.
Everyoneās brain is different.
What works for one, wonāt work for another.
āHealthā is subjective, and being āhealthyā means different things to different people.
Itās also a huge privilege if you have your health, and donāt live in constant pain.
Something that isnāt talked about much is the hollow, shaky, flu-like symptoms you get after a bad pain flare.
Just feeling absolutely shit, lifeless, and devoid of all motivation or ability to do anything.
Cutting benefits for those assessed as unable to work, clearly isnāt about āsupporting people to workā.
Itās about punishing the most vulnerable.
The most vulnerable disabled people are being killed.
If you ask a disabled person what helps, and they say āI donāt knowāā¦
Itās not because they are being annoying, itās because they probably genuinely donāt know what helps at that moment in time.
We might know something is off, but we donāt always know what to do about it
Have ended up cancelling my scope which was meant to be next week⦠no way I could travel with bowels like this.
Surgeonās secretary was nice and has offered an appointment with the surgeon in 6 weeksā time to hopefully decide whatās next⦠if I can make it thereā¦
In an alarming development, it appears the UK Government covered up a massive spike in trans youth suicides after restrictions.
Then covered it up again when caught.
Now, after fighting for years, the data is public: trans suicide increased 5x in the country.

āBut rich people create the jobsā
Yeah so they can get everyone else to do the work whilst they profit and pay their employees poverty wages.
If those at the ābottomā of the job ladder donāt work, nothing else would ever get done.
Even the āworstā job should pay enough to live
When Iāve been in hospital, Iāve always been super grateful when given a side room.
However it does worry me how much more youāre essentially ignored and forgotten about when in oneā¦
Itās better to rest, but the staff need to check up on you more regularly than they do imo.
If someone cannot workā¦
Punishing them with poverty wonāt change that.
No amount of āsupportā will change that.
Trying to force them into work wonāt change that.
Because they canāt work.
(Poverty/punishment isnāt a motivator even for those who could work, by the way)
āHow did people manage before WFHā
Many didnāt.
Many couldnāt work.
Many did work but were so exhausted that they had no lives.
Many didnāt spend time with their children.
Many had to spend a lot more money on transport, carers, etcā¦
Itās called choice and progress.
Iām going to have to cancel my sigmoidoscopy as there is just no way I can travel for 2+ hours each way with my stoma as it is right nowā¦
Not a clue what to do now tbhā¦
No one closer to home will touch me, and not sure I can go through with any more anyway.
What a mess.
