I have felt exactly the same so I'm so excited for you! I've never really been a gamer until my girls started looking cozy style games and got my to try theme and I love them. If your girls are into animal crossing I highly recommend that one as well... I adore it and we play for hours

I'm so excited that you're enjoying it! It's the kind of game that just keeps giving bc there's so many different things to do and there's no rush or pressure, you just play how you want to play. So much fun

"I got smacked as a kid and it didn't do me any harm!"

Yes, it did, my friend - you think it's okay to physically assault tiny people who are weaker than you with no power and actually look to you for protection. You are, in fact, really quite harmed.

Keep it up bc it'll eventually start giving you gifts when you pat it sometimes!

Make sure you get a silo and cut your grass to put in there if you have animals - they will stay inside all winter so you need enough hay to feed them

The villagers are the best - the longer you play the more of all their stories you get and some of them are pretty deep!

The game feels easier on switch and the co-op mode is great. The fact you can play together without being in the same place if you've got Nintendo online is pretty great too.

Genuinely the best decision I made this year was getting a third switch so we would all have one (we have a switch 1 that was shared, then eldest bought herself a lite last year for animal crossing, and youngest wanted one for bday so she would have her own). It's so much fun sharing gaming together

I've got a game going with my youngest at the moment and she's so excited every day to play together, we've almost finished the community centre for the first time and it's so satisfying! She likes mining and I love fishing so we're a good team haha

Not British but I absolutely do this and it makes me so happy to channel my annoyance in such a benign and ridiculous way

AYCC Next Generation Fund Help build the next generation of climate justice leaders by making a donation today.

It is simply fucking unacceptable that @youth4climate.bsky.social (aka the AYCC) might be forced to close for good after 20 years, and I will not be letting this happen.

If I find out a single one of you hasn't given what you are able, I will lose my fucking mind.

AYCC are the real bloody deal. I just donated, please consider donating too if you can. There aren't a huge number of REAL ONES out there sticking solidly to the task of climate action and fossil phaseout but these amazing ppl are staying strong

Help them!!

Historian take in advance of Butler's Press Club tomorrow: the current Labor rhetoric about the "original vision" of the NDIS doesn't line up with the copious historical evidence of what that actually was. It's being misrepresented deliberately. You don't need to swallow it.

Weird how we never hear things like "AUKUS is growing too fast for Australians to afford" or "negative gearing is growing too fast" or anything similar, huh

there are like NO PLOT-RELEVANT ALIVE MOMS

Pixar comes through a few times (love Bear Mom in "Brave," love Elastigirl) but Disney Original Flavor is like "oh is your mom dead? did it ruin your life? are there zero other healthy adult women role models around? ha ha no you can't ALL have a grandma"

Submarine agency external spending hit record high amid 'secretive' culture review

Australia’s submarine agency is committing record funding to external firms for management and support services while maintaining a “secretive” stance on internal assessments of its own workplace culture.

While AUKUS was framed as a means to establish sovereign industrial capability, an analysis of procurement contracts showed the agency has relied on a small group of private providers.

Wtf???

So, no money for NDIS but all the money for AUKUS - and they're outsourcing $$$ to external private firms?!

It seems telling that every media piece about the NDIS talks about autism with a subtext that it is essentially 'but is isn't really a disability, is it?'

16 hours ago 8 6 2 1

Here's their target: "Meanwhile, in-kind transfers like government-subsidised education, disability and healthcare are increasing."

Public Education
Public Disability Care
Public Health care

They want to be America.

16 hours ago 155 52 9 4

And as I have noted before, there are a lot of flaws with the NDIS. Those of us on it, and those who need support but are excluded, are the people who know what those flaws are and how to fix them. None of it includes restricting support.

16 hours ago 16 5 1 0

The NDIS set a new standard for welfare policy in 21st century Australia for a lot of reasons, including because it is a universal program that supports disabled people regardless of income so that we are on a more equal footing with others in the community.

Targeting is toxic and must be rejected.

16 hours ago 22 11 2 1

Well, you have to say it's been a bloody concerted effort by the MSM and Labor to demonise the NDIS and it's participants. So disgraceful

So miss me with the AI literacy solutions. In fact, keep missing me until you propose “AI literacy” that teaches folks how these systems incorporate systemic oppression into its operations. That’s the kind of literacy we need.

1 day ago 400 71 8 4

No amount of AI literacy can protect us because the problem isn’t knowledge, or how to use the system, it’s that the system exists in a culture that has been radically structured around white supremacy and patriarchy and your precious autocomplete incorporates it into its operations.

Legit question in the Australian today, how can Simon Benson kill the 30-50 feral hogs that run into his yard within 3-5 mins while small kids play?
