Hard to imagine anything getting this specific kind of combat better.

But I also think the strongest part of the game is the part that’s there from the beginning: the feel of the combat. So if that didn’t grab you, it might never.

In terms of the power arc, there’s definitely a point where suddenly you’re way more powerful than you used to be, which is fun.

The other characters add a lot too.

It didn’t fully click for me until I started investing more in getting the most out of each character’s toolset.

Credits rolled on Absolum. Still lots to explore, but definitely a solid experience. Hope there’s a sequel or at least a spiritual successor in the works because the foundation is fantastic.

Rewatched Burning tonight and goddamn it holds up. Steven Yeun’s best performance.
