Trump motivations in order:
1. Greed
2. Self aggrandisement
3. Benefiting those who in turn will benefit him in one of the above.

We keep looping back to the Plot Against America. In that case, Jewish children were being sent to live on farms etc to be separated from their Jewish culture. #LifeImitatingArt again.
I'm assuming 'stand with the people of Iran' given they've previously had mural supporting Women, Life, Freedom.
On that basis, how could anyone not want to stand with any people being bombed and threatened with further targeting of civilian infrastructure?
We have a long history of adopting the food culture of those we colonised abd of immigrants. Curries from colonial days improved by the influx of Commonwealth Asian folk; pizza, fish & chips and ice cream from Italians; more recently, Syrian and Afghan cuisine. Lots of positives!
No employment and training programme should create such disincentives. If apprenticeship are only paid at 2/3 of living wage, other mechanisms are needed to allow them to complete their training without penalising their families. It's not rocket science.
Boris Johnson on his way back from a party
Kemi Badenoch can't believe Keir Starmer would allow anyone with links to the Kremlin anywhere near government
Government ministers would get more done if they spent less time with lobbyists and more time in the office. Yes, they need to meet stakeholders and experts but they don't need to meet any sector weekly.
Any GPs out there fancy a p/t post in stunning Torridon. A lovely welcoming community; beautiful mountains & lochs; a shop; 2 cafes; hotel with bar, bistro and Michelin starred restaurant; community events inc monthly film night; fish, butcher & Tesco vans.

Even in capitalist US, there are similar projects which add to the evidence that housing people is cheaper than dealing with homelessness- and so much more humane than ignoring until it becomes a problem you cant ignore!
I love this chap.
Made the mistake of switching back to BBC Radio 4 Today this am. I'd forgotten how unpleasant, arrogant & pompous Nick Robinson is. I'm genuinely interested in decoupling electricity price from gas (no gas in much of rursl Scotland) but none the wiser as Robinson consistently interrupted Milliband.
I guess that must make me dreamer left as I see Labour as having moved rightwards with harsher anti immigration approach. But I agree it won't work. Reform has already cornered the market in the more extreme anti immigration and anti asylum seeker voters.
Walks like a duck; quacks like a duck...
Reform seeing they are losing popularity so, like the Tories and Labour before them, pushing even harder on the asylum-seekers-are-bad button in the hope it restores their popularity. Appalling and cynical at the same time.
I swear he says our press are just like asparaguses...
That's a pretty powerful piece of art.
The lectern!
The Sunday wine carried on...
I can only blame a rather pleasant ie boozy Sunday lunch for rhe lectern/lecturn debacle. 🙃
Bloody autocorrect. It twice changed lecturn to lecture and I didn't notice 2nd time. Tried again this correction too😕
I can't say I'm sorry she's stepping down.

Fun fact that lying UK journalistic hacks won’t tell you because they hate Labour: Boris Johnson did not pass vetting when Theresa May appointed him Foreign Secretary. #UKPolitics
Its interesting the SNP bad brigade criticising Scottish NHS for going its own way with an app. Personally, I'm glad Palantir being kept away from our data.
@notpodium.bsky.social lecture overload...
And they're never questioned on the number of folk in work on benefits which demonstrates work alone isn't a panacea.
Decent wages needed to reduce benefits bill. State/tax should not be subsidising low wages.
Employers should pay enough for their employees to afford housing, bills, food etc.
