The “I’m gay but I’m not a fag” or “I’m trans but I’m not a tranny” kind of stuff. These types will categorize people like me into a box of insults for wearing women’s clothing or having long hair as a trans man, which to them is enough to separate me and others like me from the entire community

I’ve noticed an uptick recently of conservative cis gay men with unresolved self-hatred using “reclaimed” slurs because they never grew out of their /pol/ 4chan mentality of living & they think it’s just normal to hate yourself so much that it extends to others with similar experiences. Insane shit

I spent maybe 4 hours yesterday studying the art of cartoonists like Laverne Harding and Walter Lantz, and now drawing in this 60s toony style feels totally natural. I was so afraid to branch out for so long because I was worried about hating what I might draw 2/3

Finding my love for drawing again by teaching myself to draw in a different style has restructured my brain. I find real joy in drawing again, I actually like what I'm putting down, and I'm not worried about if other people are going to enjoy it or not. No more thinking “is this good enough?”
