I feel the same way. Traditional feels restrictive for me. I'm a digital artist. But I started off traditional. Learned the fundamentals and then moved onto digital afterwards.

Here's the truth... Do what you want. But I think learning to play with a pen paper and pencil first helps.

Oh two more bonus points:

Learn to draw traditional before moving to digital first.

Photoshop is the worst art program I have ever used and before CSP I used GIMP cause Photoshop was foul tarnished scraps.

Its become much more accepted over the years but I remember 10+ years ago it wasn't.

Use 3D if it helps. You should absolutely learn your fundamentals but once your able to produce traditionally. Feel free to trace 3D to ASSIST you.

Especially if this helps you to stress less about creating.

That's a fine question. I guess I'd be leaning towards a more mature story dealing with more mature themes. I'm cool with the highschool romance but tend to steer clear of the more cliche. That's not much to go on but Josei, Working Adults maybe? Whatever you think may be not worthy. I'm open.
