it feels fitting with my experience with track and cross country. I always tended to start slower and catch up at the finish line. and for cross country i always did better with rough terrain where everyone else tripped in mud

Its not just your experience, you follow up the question with explicitly bringing up other peoples experiences. The topic is phrases as "you" and other peoples experiences.
It being your story doesnt stop the words from meaning things. It is pointed outwards by it all being phrased with "how could you".
At the start you say "how could you end up in a binary position after learning to question almost everything about this supposed static innate part of yourself?"
How do you expect anyone else to react to that. 'Why do you identify as a woman.' Its a question asking to justify yourself, a threat
