I agree. This event has been meteorologically astonishing, and its impacts will be felt long after it ends in terms of record low snowpack, sharply increased wildfire risk, and extreme low watershed runoff/streamflow into summer and beyond.

It will approach 90 degrees today in the Denver metro, which is extreme for March. I have an immediate fear about wildfires and water shortages sure to come this summer.

But I’m most overcome with the loss of what could have been and an existential dread of this unknown territory we’re entering.
