The British press pivoting to transphobia was a deliberate and conscious decision made because Brexit A.) happened, which they weren’t expecting, and B.) didn’t make anyone’s lives better. The press needed a new scapegoat to sell papers on so no one would think too hard about Brexit & blame them.

Good time for the reminder that the reason Graham Linehan is the bitter, violent carbonara-stained husk of a human being he is is because the Woman in his life Spoke.
And took his steam account in the divorce.😂
I wonder why the author chose to leave out any mention of the Trumpian agenda towards women’s’ rights, family values, lgbt+ communities, abortion & divorce?
Could analysing them, alongside the history of fascism, perhaps provide a counter argument?

something i've talked about before with a pal is that it's unfortunately telling of the libertarian streak in comics as a biz that the biggest movement was 'creator's rights' and not 'worker's rights'
like where does 'creator's rights' leave the colorist, the letterer, etc
the current BBC write up about Renee Nicole Good doesn't mention her having a wife www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

describing a minority as an 'ideology' so you can rationalise killing them doesn't change the fact that you're calling for that minority be killed
so if i understand this correctly, gaines has made her career by publicly calling trans athletes predators and threats to women while completely failing to ever mention even once that her mentor/college swimming coach was sexually assaulting and harassing women on the team while she was there?
Migrants moving to your local area is not a “legitimate reason” for racism.
LGBT folk being more visible in schools is not a “legitimate reason” for homo/transphobia.
Women not wanting to date you is not a “legitimate reason” for misogyny.
There’s no “legitimate reason” for bigotry.
Just saying.
Notice how this is in the National and not the Guardian...

I'm sorry can we just go back to the part where he just gave the cops 400 pages of proof of his ongoing stalking and harassment campaign? And was somehow surprised when they charged him????
Bloody hell
4/ Supporters of the hate group in the public gallery continued to mock the victim when she was asked whether she was homophobic (per Linehan). She firmly replied “no”, and referenced her own sexual orientation.

Why did the Telegraph ask for a comment from a pop-up anti-trans troll account set up only 4 months ago by an obsessive ‘gender critical’ transphobic GP???
Could it be that they’re trying to push trans-hostile propaganda and don’t care about balance, bias, or facts??? 🤔
Text post screenshot. A transgender M&S manager addresses recent articles about them. They recount an interaction in the lingerie section where they offered help to a woman and teen. The customer declined, and the manager, who isn't a bra fitter, proceeded to put away returns. Weeks later, a complaint was filed citing the manager's "deep booming masculine voice" and "masculine facial features." The manager clarifies they never offered bra fitting advice and that their colleagues are supportive. The manager's boss dismissed the complaint, affirming their support. The manager expresses distress over the complaint's personal attacks.
A screenshot of a text post from a trans woman detailing her positive experiences working at M&S after undergoing Facial Feminisation Surgery. She describes receiving support from colleagues and management, including gifts and messages, after the surgery. The post addresses a newspaper article that insinuated M&S was not supportive, clarifying that the company has been overwhelmingly supportive. The author emphasizes that M&S allows any colleague to train as a bra fitter and any customer to book an appointment, regardless of gender identity. She also clarifies that the lingerie department and walkway to menswear are not "women only" spaces and that she does not enter occupied fitting rooms. The author concludes by stating that M&S respects her as a trans woman and a valued colleague, and that the real issue is tabloid newspapers twisting stories for profit.
Information relating to the M&S complaint, reportedly from the trans woman whom the complaint was about. Almost everything claimed in recent articles is extremely inaccurate. 1/
I mean, I'd go a step further: Noem is violating the law, and claiming an Article II exception.

A long thread on why the concessions in and around the UCPIP Bill (ie the disability benefits cuts) are illusory, disingenuous and potentially makes things worse 🧵
There are 5 big myths to bust -fifth is the most difficult to untangle, but the most significant in my view, so please do bear with 🙂
We will be at parliament today reporting on the mass lobbying day.
And we will try to keep you updated on the events as they unfold.
Wanting people to not support a corporate shill sexual abuser who pushes Islamophobic rhetoric against a fellow candidate isn't a "purity test". You shouldn't support a corporate shill sexual abuser who pushes Islamophobic rhetoric against a fellow candidate, that's just something you shouldn't do.
So, does “biological sex” mean:
A) hormone levels? (If so, trans women = women)
B) chromosomes? (If so, what about intersex people?)
C) Genitals? (If so, trans men with bottom surgery = men)
One thing that *isn’t* “biological”, is a birth certificate (that’s “certificated sex”!)
🤷🏼♀️
Martine Croxall must be suspended from the BBC. She won't though. Unfortunately transphobia is now protected and normalised in the UK. The sad reality is a trans person can lose their job just for being trans while a transphobe is protected at work for being transphobic.
Imagine what would have happened if a newsreader corrected “women’s rights group sex matters” to “trans segregation campaigners”.
