The teensiest of coil because I didn't want to ruin the illusion that the ring is going through the pot and lid. I actually cut the circle off the top as I was throwing it to get rid of a wobble. The next day, this perfect ring of clay was leather hard, so I thought I'd try and use it!

Not bad for my first attempt at a tea pot. Though that handle is 100% going to break ๐ณ

Thank you! It's my first time painting with glazes so I hope it turns out alright. There are Scarva Nano glazes and should be pretty bright and vibrant when fired. The clay is new to me also so it's all a bit of a mystery

Wow that is so gorgeous. But HOW did those legs survive two firings?! ๐คฏ
Here's what I did with the clay that I debossed using cut lino
#pottery #ceramics #clay #artist #art
I just leave it there. I don't really use underglaze, but if I did, I don't think it would affect it much. A light dab probably would get rid of it though
I cut a pattern into lino, and here I'm testing it as a texture mat on some beautiful toasted stoneware clay
I use some cut tights to make a little parcel of corn starch, which I dab on to stop it sticking
I can then use this sheet of clay to handbuild anything I like

Ooo ive heard of it but don't think I can get it in my country
It will be me in my own kiln (which isn't much more reliable with how impatient and clumsy I am!)
Thank you
It's lovely. What clay is it?
Thank you Anna x
