It must be fun being the opposition party in the House of Commons. PeePee just says that he would do something like “wishing for a tariff free auto sector” like it’s just gonna happen. And a third of the country believes him. Damn near half if he says it in a catchy three word phrase.

Pauline Johnson is shown in a studio portrait in profile, facing to the right. She has long, wavy hair that falls past her shoulders with curled bangs at the front. She wears a necklace made of claw-shaped pieces and a garment decorated with fringe, beadwork, and fur elements. The clothing features layered textures with hanging tassels and small decorative pieces across the chest and shoulders. The photograph has a light background and soft lighting that highlights her face and the details of the clothing.

Pauline Johnson was one of Canada's most acclaimed poets.
Her poems focused on her duel English-Mohawk heritage, which were reflected in her stage shows.
Over a century after her death, she remains an important literary figure in our history.
This is her story.

Petition e-7148 - Petitions

www.ourcommons.ca/petitions/en...

Sign the petition brought forward by MP to require all federal party leaders to have security clearance. Let’s make it a record breaking number of signatures. Ask yourself, why wouldn’t a leader of our country want to have this? Or a lifetime MP for that matter.

I tell my students that whenever they react to something that results in conflict, they have to respond w/kindness.

That a response that comes from hate or violence, just adds more of that to the world. When what we need is more love.

I hope if they don’t listen to me, they listen to Bad Bunny.

One headline brazenly lies that “Trump will de-escalate” while three headlines below he has the FBI trying to prove the 2020 election was fraudulent. Still. Despite a zillion courts finding that they were legitimate.

Ian Austin, an Army veteran, was arrested for protesting ICE in Minneapolis. But he’s continued protesting. Senior reporter @julialurie.bsky.social spoke to him.

“When they say, ‘Why would you be out here?’ How the fuck could I not be out here?” he says. “My nation is under attack."

Image of First Nations children in a residential school. The graphic shows the odds of dying for children in residential schools was 1 in 25. Which was greater than the odds of soldiers dying while serving in World War II, 1 in 26.

4 Lakota men were kidnapped by ICE in Minneapolis. 3 of them were taken to what used to be a concentration camp for Native people, and the only people talking about it are other Indigenous people. I am angry but mostly numb, I am so used to this at this point. We are always forgotten.

I know people on Bsky know this but I hope it filters out: The feds are OCCUPYING the Twin Cities. This is a blockade, a siege. They are shutting down economic and civic activity. They are conducting "papers please" stops. They are criminalizing being a bystander/witness.

You could be next.

Four Oglala detainees located, three still in ICE custody - ICT The four Lakota detainees were reportedly sent to a former concentration camp used during the Dakota Wars

This is surreal. 4 Oglala Lakota men kidnapped by ICE in Minneapolis have finally been located. One of them was released but the other 3 are being held at Fort Snelling, a former concentration camp used to imprison Native people incl. the Dakota 38 during Dakota Wars.

Graphic shows 45.4% voter turnout in Ontario 2025 election and 82.5% voter turnout in Germany in the same month and year. Ontario is a first past the post electoral victory and Germany is proportional representation. Knowing their vote will matter is why Germany sees greater representation and voting.

Exhibit A as to why people don’t get out and vote and we get consecutive Conservative “majorities” in Ontario.

The names of Canada's provinces and territories come from many sources.
Some names come from Indigenous words, while others are named for royalty, and some are named for where settlers came from.
This is how each province and territory was named!

Grumble about Frump all you want, but it’s not like he’s getting these ideas from his own brain. He’s a puppet of the American regime that has had similar foreign policy like this for decades. Reserve some anger for the puppet masters devising and carrying out the plans. And save some for voters.

I feel as though there should be a law that says if Pierre Poilievre gets defenestrated as CPC leader in January then he has to move to Battle River—Crowfoot and live there until the next election because I think this would teach everyone involved an invaluable lesson about shenanigans.
