Yep. And never will.
DAMN straight.
I don't rush. I return to the work. Emergence, priming the pump.

At first, only sound.
Then rhythm takes hold.
Then the water comes.
Stories emerge the same way.
A lyric memoir from a Northwoods cabin, where labor and attention shape a life at human speed. A red pump, a wood stove, a loon-loud lake, a sustained search for meaning.

Knowledge happens in ways not always understood; we think it's because of our effort or self-improvement toward mastery of skill, but yoga suggests other forces are involved. I explore this in my latest article in March OM Yoga Magazine. See it here gregoryormson.com/2026/03/19/t...
I recorded Yoga Song as it was meant to be experienced: it's a book in breath, in rhythm, in a human voice with a few original songs.
If you wonder what an inner practice put into story and song sounds like, this is a place to begin.

I once saw a single work completed. Nothing decorative but everything necessary; the rare moment when a task is finished completely. Dig. Dump. Bury. Cover.

When the Blackbird Talks to the Crow: Rhiannon Giddens and the Music of Liberation
What I’d give to sing just one song in hope-filled voice with Rhiannon Giddens. I’d heard her in Michigan when I sat on the ground; right, there, ten, feet, away — watching and listening — my mouth agape, ears…

The Body That Remembers (Om Yoga Magazine, January 2026)
In “The Body That Remembers,” a father confronts pain, lineage, and limits as yoga becomes a discipline of return. What begins as an attempt to fix a failing back opens into a reckoning with inheritance carried in fascia, breath, and memory.…
"I pledge allegiance to the human race." Edward Abbey.
Me too, because anything beyond that gets further from compassion. Put on a little hat, salute a flag, follow a creed. And boom, before ya know it, ya gotta bunch of rules and exclusions.

Beoming the Breath, a Journey Through Yoga’s Inner Weather
The 104th of my "yogainspirationals" in Om Yoga Magazine January, 2026 We’ve all walked into a yoga room feeling less than whole: sluggish, stiff, and unprepared for anything resembling transformation. I did recently; my body ached, my…
A simple gym sign offered two choices: relive 2025 or skip ahead to 2027. What struck me was the absence of a third option: to fully live in the unmarked year, to embrace the present. I explore the importance of staying awake in the current moment, reflecting on what has passed & what approaches.
Tom Waits and a Hat Full of Rain
Image: Author’s Own Tom Waits and A Hat Full of Rain In the turning gyre of Midwestern rain and storms, life fired a curiosity that drove me to take the path of wonder in simple things, like delicate rain. Walking in the rain, I hear a child, and like the grass,…
