Can’t agree more about learning light as a photographer. At a workshop, I learned to think about light as a subject as much as the person in front of the camera. Learning to work with the light (including sometimes just letting it happen) was really what’s changed me as a photographer.

Valid pet peeve!!!

This is my cat's toy. The sunlight did this. The 2nd photo shows what it looks like in normal lighting. Learning light is the biggest thing that can take your photo from meh to wow. My biggest pet peeve is when there is no light on the subject's face. What are your biggest pet peeves in photos?
