The body of this snake is a series of stripes - a straw-yellow dorsal stripe running down the middle of the back, flanked on either side by dark greenish-gray stripes, which are in turn flanked by straw-yellow strips on either side of the body. The top half of the head is a pale olive green, with straw-yellow color along the mouth and under the neck and chin. The eye is dark brown with a round black pupil.
