partner and I have been watching Campfire Cooking in Another World as our shared workout show, and while I was a bit of a hipster about it at first, I’m really enjoying it now, esp because we’ve been cooking the meals out of it as we go and that’s been really nice

I really enjoyed the Project Hail Mary movie. I hadn’t read the book and I’d only seen one trailer, so I went in not knowing what to expect and came out of it with my heart warmed. Uplifting media is what I need in my life right now and it definitely delivered on that front.

off is a game that’s very dear to me for reasons I really can’t articulate easily. the way it creates atmosphere and recontextualizes your role in the world over time is so unique, I can so clearly see how it influenced undertale now looking back.

oh yeah my physical copy of off finally made it home so that’s what I’ve been (re)playing recently. it feels like a totally different game with the new music and visual updates, but the vibes are still immaculate. I also love that it came with a little guidebook in the case ❤️ so nostalgic

Started watching the anime adaptation for Gnosia, which is a sci-fi take on Werewolf but with time loop elements. The art style is a little busy for my taste but I’m 5 eps in and hooked on the concept. It’s filling the void that Fate/Strange Fake left behind haha

I’ve been getting back into reading and it’s been really nice. Currently reading Exhalation by Ted Chiang and I love his storytelling style. This is my first direct exposure to his writing, but I love Arrival and want to read his short story that inspired it when I’m done with this collection.

I haven’t had the energy or motivation to maintain a social media presence lately, but I also kinda miss it, so if anyone sees this and likes it I’ll share one thing I’ve been enjoying lately per like. also pls feel free to reply with things you’ve been enjoying also.

Hiroyuki Sawano has a very distinct style but he also recycles certain chord and rhythm progressions in a way that my amateur brain can’t really describe, I can just tell from the vibes. but because of that, I feel like if you generally like all the pieces, you’ll generally like any of his songs.

not me hearing a random pop song and thinking “this song has the exact cadence of a Hiroyuki Sawano song” only to then look it up and find out that he produced the group LMAO

I still need to watch Baccano, it’s been on my list for years!! But I was a big Durarara fan as a teenager 😂 so I def also enjoy the large cast shenanigans and just allow myself to go with the flow, somehow it works so well for the fate series too hehe

omg I looked up Narita and it makes so much sense now LMAO. It’s no wonder a show with such a massive cast still works so well, that’s his whole deal 😂😂 I might have to read the light novel and the manga at this rate hahaha, I still love that this whole thing was just fate fanfic at some point

the animation is gorgeous, the characters are so much fun, and the story really is just cool fights + fun master/servant dynamics. It’s all I ever want out of a fate hahaha I’m having such a good time
