A crudely made sign stand of bundled bamboo held together with wire, upon which is mounted a roughly made sign of a single piece of wood, painted black, on which someone has crudely written BOOKS with an arrow pointing to the right, in a street somewhere.

Comment from Cynthia reads: I made this exactly as written in the crockpot, and it was terrific. Five stars. I won’t be making it again though because the potato chip topping meant that I needed to buy a bag of potato chips, which I eat the minute I bring them into the house, and now I’ve eaten two bags of chips along with the soup. I do realize this is a me problem, but I mention it in case others identify.

Seems a bit harsh to shut all the shops the day Jesus comes back. He might need a few bits.

Ok I have seen a GOOD APRIL FOOLS JOKE in the wild.

My kids comic (Phoenix - home if @jamiesmart.bsky.social) comes in an envelope every week, we open it, had a fake cover for a soup review mag like we’d been sent the wrong thing.

Genius!

Call me reactionary, but I've recently come to the conclusion that authors who end their books on a cliffhanger should be loaded into a rocket and fired into the heart of the nearest Sun.

Excerpt from the article:

"The question here is not really one of whether such prayer is in fact an attempt to “dominate” – or the more obvious explanation, that during Ramadan one breaks ones’ fast by eating very briefly just before and then more properly after the evening Maghrib prayer (yes, like our own Maariv prayer). Rather it is about whether one has the right to publicly express their religious identity in this country. In this specific instance, an event to mark a key event in the Islamic calendar had been openly and legally booked for Trafalgar Square. Muslims present had every right to pray as a part of that."
