My view:
- I will adopt digital ID if it is something you add to your Google Wallet. There also needs to be a physical version for those with unsupported devices/dumbphones.
- I will NOT adopt digital ID if it is a dedicated app that needs access to my location, call logs, etc and/or contains ads.

In 2017-18, Samsung's main line of attack against Apple was they had a headphone jack. There was a whole series of ads about this.

Then Android manufacturers got rid of the headphone jack. Then the SD slot. And now sideloading.

Those who were into Android in the late 2010s asked manufacturers for three major updates per device. This was at a time when flagships became obsolete in three years of release.

They misinterpreted this request as "we want to be more like iPhone". We do NOT. We just wanted three major OS updates.
