Here's the problem with innovation: some people deny it, some people fight it, some people are curious about it, and some people prepare for it. Look at stables, blacksmiths, buggy makers, harness and saddle shops, and even roadside inns catering to horse travelers all wiped out by the invention of the automobile. Society not only survived, it thrived. Scriveners, copyists, ink and quill supplies all replaced by the invention of the typewriter. Society not only survived, it thrived. Typewriter manufacturers, ribbon and correction suppliers, carbon paper producers, mimeograph duplicators, fax machines, typing schools, Rolodexes and card catalogs, along with a host of other office supplies all replaced by personal computers, email, and printers. Society not only survived, it thrived. Now the boogeyman is
"artificial intelligence" (AI). Will it replace whole industries? Yes, but it won't replace you or anyone else. It will open whole new pathways and opportunities. If you prepare and accept it you will thrive; if you deny it and fight it you'll be left behind, just as NAFTA left so many behind when manufacturing jobs were outsourced in the name of progress. The fact is we live in a knowledge based economy. Don't shoot the messenger, make sure you are educated, trained, and ready to thrive.

Reese Witherspoon is right about AI.

Donald J. Trump - Truth Social Post

STATEMENT OF PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP:

Based on the fact that the Government of Iran is seriously fractured, not unexpectedly so and, upon the request of Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, of Pakistan, we have been asked to hold our Attack on the Country of Iran until such time as their leaders and representatives can come up with a unified proposal. I have therefore directed our Military to continue the Blockade and, in all other respects, remain ready and able, and will therefore extend the Ceasefire until such time as their proposal is submitted, and discussions are concluded, one way or the other. Iran’s refusal to participate in ongoing negotiations or to submit a response or proposal is not the result of a ‘fractured’ government. It appears calculated and strategic, asserting control over the Strait of Hormuz and exposing who is desperate for a deal. One might even call it ‘art.’

Why wouldn’t the U.S. experience shortages resulting from limited supplies of oil, helium, aluminum, and fertilizer combined with sustained global demand?

Fair point on scale, but the deeper issue is that Polymarket wagers aren’t votes. A bet reflects speculation, not civic participation. Polling measures registered voters; prediction markets measure gamblers. The two signals may overlap, but they’re fundamentally different universes.

The likelihood that two Republicans will face off in the general election remains a strong possibility. Polymarket predictions versus voter polling data present a conundrum. Should we trust people with a gambling addiction problem or those who are registered to vote in the election?

The Founding Fathers did not design congressional service to be a lifelong career. Early practices, such as rotation in office under the Articles of Confederation, reflected a belief in limited terms. Over time, however, Congress adopted rules that made seniority central to power.

The Volokh proposal to punish attorney-journalists for reporting court leaks is pure nonsense. Bar rules don’t override press freedom, and twisting them to muzzle reporters is a bad-faith attempt to chill transparency. Total BS dressed up as “ethics.”

Tim Cook will step down as Apple CEO and hand reins over to the iPhone maker's hardware leader Apple CEO Tim Cook is stepping down from the job that he inherited from the late Steve Jobs, ending a 15-year reign that saw the company’s market value soar by more than $3.6 trillion during an iPhone...

Tim Cook will say he had a fiduciary responsibility to Apple shareholders to do what he did in regard to donating to 47’s inauguration and ballroom and giving him a gold trophy to appease him. I try to imagine what Steve Jobs would have done had he lived. I think Steve would have said, ‘Fuck you.’

NYC’s early 20th‑century high schools weren’t just classrooms, they were civic monuments. Built with cheaper labor and materials, standardized designs, and a belief that education deserved grandeur, they became palaces of learning that still inspire awe today.

It’s disconcerting, to say the least, that the so‑called ‘greatest justice system in the world’ has no real guardrails to prevent its powers from being used for illegal or unethical purposes. What’s even more frightening is that now, as it happens, no one is suggesting we build actual guardrails.

Joe Rogan is pushing ibogaine therapy, now being prioritized for research under Trump’s executive order. Rogan is not a doctor, a researcher or a scientist. Ibogaine has been linked to cardiac arrhythmias and sudden death.
