The aging and fermentation process generally eliminates the risk of E. coli which is why there are so many raw milk cheeses commercially available. This suggests that the company in question has a serious cross contamination issue rather than a pasteurization issue.

2 is really not a salient point here. I don’t disagree that milk should be pasteurized for drinking but there are dozens and dozens of unpasteurized cheeses on the market made here and abroad. The US requires any unpasteurized cheeses to age 60 days minimum, longer than most countries.

Oh but wait - then you must not know about Mamdani’s days as Young Cardamom, when he did a song for his mom’s movie Queen of Katwe. youtu.be/DZ1OblYm5YY

Seeing those pictures, it kinda feels like they’re trying to recreate the Minnesota Starvation experiment. Those meals are absolutely inadequate for calories, macros, and micronutrients and I feel horrible for everyone on board.

Redefining PCOS: A Shift from the Ovaries to the Brain Aleisha Moore, author of a recent highly downloaded Journal of Neuroendocrinology article, summarises the paper's key findings

A lot of recent research is implicating the brain as the origin point of PCOS and it’s super interesting. www.neuroendo.org.uk/page.php?coo...

Hey, my 13 year old wanted to play me a song from a cool band they’d found. It was Devo.

Most politicians are focusing on neither wants or needs frankly. I can be in 100% agreement with you that they should be solving the problems of our nation, but I’m not sure either party wants that right now, if it upsets the donor class, and it’s kind of irrelevant to celebrating a small W for once

Can’t we care about more than one thing? I actively do work in food security in my local community. I think about all the time. I can also be pissed off at being increasingly denied the pleasure of live music, because Ticketmaster needs another shareholder payout.

These people are insane. I hear the same comments about my city, Peoria, from all the assholes who live in the wealthier bedroom communities. Just quaking in their pickup trucks to set foot anywhere in town while I’m just living my life.

But do English robins lay blue eggs like American ones do?

We have the most delightful Yemeni coffee place here, which just opened a second location, and I’m always way happier to go in there than any Starbucks. The vibes are better as well as the coffee.

Thank you for posting Jeff and Stone, who led this fight, instead of Ed, who was minimally involved.

Joy matters. I got to follow my favorite band around over the summer when I was a broke college student, and I could do it because ticket prices weren’t insane. My kids will never have that opportunity with what tickets cost these days.

I have never before heard of Welshcakes but they look like a cross between pancakes and crumpets and now I have to find a recipe and try them. They are lovely!

Fast food companies made a deliberate choice to have service suffer. There used to be a true “crew” of people working behind the counter. There was enough staff that there could be a little slack. Now they’re all massively understaffed to save on labor. I’m not gonna be mad they lack enthusiasm.

Harriet is a lab/coonhound mix. She would post memes about being lazy and join conspiracy forums about what the mailman is up to (no good, obviously).

I mean, usually for Thanksgiving there’s at least 3 pies on top of all that other food. Hence breakfast pie.

There is rarely extra pie in other circumstances.

I am a big believer in breakfast pie, when there is extra pie.

All I want to see from every damn member of congress is “we must impeach this man and I’m in DC waiting to vote on it. Anything less is complicity.

Also late GenX and I never read flowers in the attic but i was reading a ton of Stephen king at that age, and historical romances were my jam. Sure they had sex in them, but I know the ins and outs of a medieval castle to the point my husband is always impressed.

Dyeing eggs with turmeric works much better when you boil them with the dye than when you soak them after the fact. Hibiscus on the other hand - either I needed more flowers or I need to try it with cooled dye and see if it comes out better.

Dyed Easter eggs.

Dyed Easter eggs.

Final results - boiling eggs with the onion skins resulted in reddish eggs, whereas soaking them in cooled dye after hard boiling will give golden colored eggs - this is apparently the difference between Greek and Polish techniques for dyeing them.

I accidentally made a salad dressing using a whole head of garlic instead of a clove, when I was 18. It was…intense. Still good though.

Ironically I think I am about 38% German.

And again, that’s in the context of atherosclerotic patients who likely have no trouble maintaining enough LDL. Outside of that context, someone who is having trouble producing or maintaining LDL is a red flag that something else is going on, like liver disease or an eating disorder for example.
