It also has a magic system that is well-enough detailed that you can treat it like engineering, and a main character with the right background skills and determination to do so, which is always fun.

Putting floating plants in my aquarium to control nitrates worked a bit too well. Less than two weeks later and the water surface is completely covered. I'm going to have to remove half the floating plants every week or so just to keep up.

Set-up of my desk aquarium is going well. I've build a completely custom 3D printed lid that has built-in compartments for plants, with airstone-driven intakes to force water through the plant roots. So far the only inhabitants are a handful of snails until I'm sure the water parameters are stable.
