I actually did this with my own Vtuber model, no GenAi use whatsoever, instead I used whatever assets i could to make a rough idea and then paid an actual artist to bring it to life and well, here's the process.

I remember seeing them on the other site but never could bring myself to like them; I saw them RT some art I was pretty sure was genAI.
Glad my intuition was right, they are a load of garbage.
