You can't make this up. Elon Musk's X mistakes CIS - the name of a think tank - for the opposite of "trans", and labels it a slur. Reminds me of russia, where a rainbow on an ice cream box is considered gay propaganda
but I'm sure the majority are pretty appalled by this administration that is ruining their life's work. Which makes me wonder how many of them will actually resign, and what that tells us about human nature.
I can't even imagine how American diplomats must feel, people who have spent their lives representing a democracy, playing by the rules, and now have to choose between quitting and enforcing the insane demands of an ugly, thuggish regime. Of course, there are many Trumpists among them too,
My analysis of Russia's role in German politics (spoiler: bad!), written for the Baltic Defence College in December, and focused on the election campaign. The campaign has since taken a populist turn and is now mainly about immigration. But I expect things to go back to bad normal pretty soon
