That's a 12-14× gap—and growing
Worse: 61% comes as debt, only 18% reaches LDCs, only 10% gets to communities where impact hits hardest
Tripling quantity won't work if quality stays broken
Our second speaker really nailed it on just transition! "Just transition" in Africa isn't about moving away from fossil fuels:it's about transitioning INTO prosperity.
Africa needs to reframe this conversation on its own terms or risk locking in new injustices under green labels
GGA risk: reporting tools that don't lead to action. GGA opportunity: evidence base to demand what Africa needs—capacity for modeling, quality finance, tech transfer, reduced burden. The indicators exist, they need to be used to shift from reporting to action.
