Distance runners do have a lot of core strength, as it helps maintain form when fatigued and aids with stride. As for arm strength, sure; but that can be developed

Random thought: kinda surprised that there haven’t been programs to get East African runners into #nordicskiing in a similar way that sprinters from the Caribbean have gotten into #bobsled
