He made a mistake, not the first, one of many perhaps. Nobody died, nobody died. There are so many other reasons to get behind Starmer. Surely time to get real and move forward, the other lot, including Davey, aren’t interested in making the country better for the people.

**AFFORDABILITY CHEQUE**

**Last August Reform UK's coffers were boosted by a generous £100,000 donation from the UK franchise of Sotheby's International Realty.**

It isn't hard to see why the property agency, whose UK and Dubai franchises are owned by businessman George Azar, would be interested in supporting Reform. Not only is it the estate agent used by the party's treasurer, Nick Candy, but Reform is hoping its planned tax exemption for multimillionaires prompts wealthy people to relocate to the UK, which would boost the luxury property market Sotheby's deals in.

Less clear, however, is how Sotheby's was able to afford its donation to Reform. Its accounts for 2023 show the company was heavily in debt, with net liabilities of more than £12.8m. The company's accounts for 2024, which might have shed some light on the matter, were due by 31 December 2025. But, more than three months on, they still haven't been filed, which is a criminal offence under the Companies Act.

Alas, whether Sotheby's had made sufficient profit from its UK operations to fund its generous gift remains, for the time being, a mystery.

Pretty terrible that heavily-indebted Sotheby's has donated to Reform UK. Via Private Eye

Our NHS is not safe in Nigel Farage’s hands.

Please repost if you agree that the BBC has been undermining democracy and enabling foreign interference in our politics by promoting and protecting Farage.

Fun fact that lying UK journalistic hacks won’t tell you because they hate Labour: Boris Johnson did not pass vetting when Theresa May appointed him Foreign Secretary. #UKPolitics

Lebedev can fill you in with that.

I voted all my life for different versions of the Labour Party including Starmer’s weak version considering what he was preaching before he became leader of the party (huge critic).

But this situation that’s going on now to oust a PM absolutely ridiculous. I can’t believe where the UK is now.

Yes he did.

It’s more profitable for them than Epstein crimes.

Only in the eyes of journalists. Most folk couldn't give a toss. I hope it prompts him to enact Leveson 2 full throttle.

It could have been Cabinet office, they could ask McSweeney his views.

His dad was a journalist, I think that’s why he’s reluctant to blanket trash the trade. We however don’t have that problem. UK journalists are the absolute pits as far as I can see. Just ask Levison.

Just blocked him or it whatever it is.

A pile on is a pile on and the RW press want him because he gained popularity with the anti Trump Iran war thing and Farage is losing support.

So true , it really is a problem when media constantly undermine the government chosen democratically by the people. They seem to act on behalf of another set of people entirely.

I think the media don’t care for the electorate that gave him and his government a landslide victory. It must make it difficult for them to get the MP for Mara-largo and the BBC and his tax dodgers into the news. They will persist though.

Oh, for fucksake drop this Mandelson crap. Journalists criticising Starmer's decision making based on the content of dog shit newspapers that set your agenda didn't work the last two times you were wanging on about it and it won't work the third time.
You just look stupid now.

This morning, Miliband was thoroughly grilled over Starmer and Mandelson by the same presenter who allowed Yusuf to spout fascist and racist shite about "invasions" yesterday, without any challenge at all.

Good thread.
All seems pretty clear to me.
And as Warren says, if you think Starmer isnt telling the truth, what evidence do you have?

I’ve lost count of the number of posts that start ‘I’m not a Labour supporter or voter …..’ and then go on to support Keir Starmer. Praise him and compare him to the other leaders at this time.

I want to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart 😘

I agree, we don’t need another Lebedev in an unsackable appointment. Farage would be getting Orban in and we’ll never get back into Europe.
Awful politics atm.

He’s Putin trained he would be easy to sack if he was a civil servant.

Wow that’s almost the same as ex-chancellor Hunt when he unfortunately forgot to pay during a property carve up. Or, almost like Jenrick when he gave his mate a tax swindling trick to use on his property carve up. You think these are any good at anything other than cheating and swindling.
