I get that it seems unlikely to you, but Andy is really trying to show you what he sincerely believes to be true. It’s easy to be cynical — you can call him a shill and he can call you a grifter — but you’re both trying to figure things out. Frustrating to watch you two miss each other.

For what it’s worth, Andy sincerely thinks you’re mistaken. You each have very cynical views of the other, and you’re both wrong. It’s hard to find out what’s true in any field.

it is nicely simple but I do kinda wish "with almonds" was changed to "with pee"... I guess your kids already know you don't put a hat on a hat

I agree with my blue sky friends about the rise of antisemitism on the bird site. Sadly it’s from the left and the right, including prominent folks like Matt Stoller.

Bluesky should have the same theme song as Star Wars when sung by Bill Murray

this happened on twitter in 2013-21, it's happening here now, and it's strange to witness it

"Service Model" by Adrian Tchaikovsky is the funniest and darkest expression of this mode.

this is a very good reason to not be on bluesky.

I'm on Twitter and this is not my experience. If there are people I'm engaging who are engaging with far right-wing accounts, it's antagonistically. Same with far left-wing accounts, for the most part.

I'm sorry that happens to both of you.

Your food guide introduced me to Nong’s when I was in town for XOXO 2014. Now I live here and and get to have Nong’s regularly. So… a very belated thanks!

The jobs that are hollowed out are in many ways more disturbing than the ones that disappear altogether.

What these people need to understand is what ICE is learning and what your Twitter enemies learned a long time ago. Don’t go to war with Will Stancil. He will outlast you. He is more stubborn than you. He has nothing to lose. He lives for nothing but vengeance.

There’s a group of people on Twitter who use social media as a place to connect where you’re allowed to hold a wide range of opinions and still be loved and respected. It feels really good to have that kind of space and community around you. I hope Will can find that, either online or off.

for what it's worth I have a lot of friends on another social network that don't act this way at all.

DOCTOR: I told him he needed to get out to a show, that was how he would cure his depression.

CHOTINER: So you learned this technique in school?

DR: No, not— listen it was good advice. Pagliacci was in town.

C: Right. Is it standard to give advice before learning a patient’s name?

DR: Now look

It is definitely damaging and I am trying to watch as little as possible. I don't need to see it again from another angle!

Ability to hide reposts and quote posts per followed account · Issue #1116 · bluesky-social/social-app Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. I know that I can hide reposts and quote posts via my settings. But I'd like to be able to decide that for each account I'm following....

Could just anybody complete this? Like can I do this? Because it still makes bsky broken. github.com/bluesky-soci...

Anil says: "This wave of layoffs and reductions has been described as “pursuing efficiencies” or “right-sizing”."

The companies aren't using AI as excuse. Anil's still blaming them. It's a little silly. How many years does Google have to pay people $300k to do nothing?

At some point anil dash become insane. His thesis is that these workers weren't laid of because of AI but just because they weren't needed, but that's presented as nefarious with no justification. It doesn't make any sense.
