Graphic image has white text on a maroon background. White Community Legal Aid SoCal logo at bottom. Image Text: What happens when a person does not get the civil legal help they need? Loss of Rights and/or Property: In civil matters like eviction, you can lose your home and access to future housing. Financial Consequences: Those sued for unpaid debts could be financially devastated by unfavorable judgments without the ability to manage or negotiate claims effectively. Emotional and Mental Stress: Facing legal problems without an attorney is incredibly stressful. Inequality of Justice: The legal system is meant to be fair, but those who cannot afford legal help are at a serious disadvantage in court or negotiations.
Navigating the legal system isn’t easy. Without the right support, people can suffer significant consequences. Legal aid attorneys play an essential role in bridging the gap for those who cannot afford to hire an attorney.
