Met a tiny fluffy chihuahua named Lady Grey (who was of course, also grey) and got to shake her little paw at a cafe. I feel blessed by royalty

1 Year on T... Mario hangs his hat on a nearby rack then notices himself in the mirror. He says "it's-a me..." Tears of joy stream down his cheeks and he finishes "Mario"

I clearly looked so heartbroken I was given a new beigel at no cost. I now feel a deep sense of loyalty to the bakery but I also cannot show my face for at least a week there because it was so cartoonishly embarrassing to have beigel roll down my front

had a truly devastating moment at the bakery today where I dropped half of my salted beef beigel down the front of my white sweater and absolutely covered it in mustard while trying to do a one-handed coffee pick up

sitting across from a kid and his artsy mom who smiled at me carrying two art prints and a giant pinboard for my new studio while she clearly just bought a brand new art case for him that he keeps excitedly taking pictures of. sometimes the kids are doing alright

I 100% agree with what Gemma wrote here.

If you want to help trans and nonbinary people out right now (especially if you are in a position of privilege), then direct aid to trans crowdfunds and/or hiring (or helping with the hiring) of trans people at your workplaces will be immese help.

A picture of a dead humanoid creature, accompanied by text that reads:

“One frigidly cold winter night on a highway in the Midwest, god was born. It was born like any other animal, writhing in a mess on the cold ground. Its skin still glistened with cosmic afterbirth and its umbilical cord was still attached, reaching high into a cloudless night sky.

After a few moments, God stood. Its frail legs quivered as they moved. Its membranous wings inched outward from within its back, reflecting the stars that sparkled above it. Its eyes opened wide, peering up at the vast empyrean it had once called its womb. As it unfurled, it sang a soft melody and as it sang, its body was enveloped in a blistering light. For a brief moment, God was aware. God saw its body and its surroundings. God felt the bite of the cold and the texture of the ground. God was alive.

The front two tires broke its bones and the back two killed it. God laid there. A pile of viscera smeared across uneven concrete. The corpse would be hit thirty seven more times that night. By morning it was unrecognizable. Its holy flesh lay mixed with dirty snow, bits of tire and road salt. No scavenger, no matter how hungry, dared to pick at its divine flesh.

God’s body, now indistinguishable from a sodium rich jerky, was peeled from the ground some three months later. Its blackened, sun bleached flesh barely held its form as it was thrown in a black plastic bag with three dead possums and half a deer. The bag was dropped off at a local landfill two hours later. A landfill where it would stay.

God was born like any other animal. It died like one too. “

One of the promotional poster from the original Japanese theatrical release of Princess Mononoke (1997). It depicts a scene where San with her blood-drenched mouth standing in front of Moro no Kimi, a large white mountain wolf.

Seeing all the political news coming from the US today (wrt the attack on trans & nonbinary people), my mind flashed to the image of one of the promotional posters for Princess Mononoke that I saw as a child back in 1997 with the copy 「生きろ。」 ("Live."). (The copy is written as an imperative.)
