FYI the Council held a consultation earlier this year about upgrading the junction with better crossing facilities to make it safer for pedestrians to cross. So things are already in motion for improvement

I saw this poster on a bus stop yesterday when I walked into Chorlton centre to do my parents’ food shopping

Blue badge holders: how are you treated by other members of the public when out? Have you experienced reactions from other people when using your blue badge? We’d like to hear from you

Have you ever been criticised in public for using a Blue Badge? I’m looking to gather disabled people’s experiences for The Guardian to explore hostility around the Blue Badge and Motability schemes.

We’ve made a quick form you can fill in here: www.theguardian.com/world/2026/a... (Please share.)

I see some people are frothing at the idea of free school breakfast clubs. How much of a ridiculous person you must be if you think feeding kids to set them up for the day is a bad idea. No one is “getting one over you”.

Politics has broken a 200 year trend. Here's what happens next YouTube video by Garys Economics

I think this video by @garyseconomics.bsky.social is very articulate. Pop it on in the background whilst you’re pottering about. It’s a very good listen

In Turkey, an elderly man who earns his living by shining shoes is visited every morning at the same time by a cat that asks to have its fur brushed. The man never turns down this little friend.😍👍💙

@jimcantona.bsky.social I’m reading I, Partridge & I’ve got to the part where he’s joined the BBC to do The Day Today and he’s trying to make small talk with the cast 😂😂😂 I’ve been in tears at this

A lorry with a photograph of a footballer. Said footballer has had a rather impressive set of genitals added to his person which have been etched into the residual road dirt on the back of said lorry.

Presenting the greatest bit of lorry defacing I’ve ever seen.

If you’re a #Chorlton resident, you have the chance to put questions to Cllr candidates. Worth while as the town centre has died on its arse & crap public realm, and the dodgy dealings with the developers of the precinct site.

I see the Tories have got their finger on the pulse & are attacking those who work 4-days 🙄 I do 35hrs compressed hrs over 4 days with flexi time due to health reasons. 2 colleagues do the same because they’re carers. Our work gets done with no probs. Again, this demonstrates MPs are out of touch

Come on US, you have the ability to put a stop to this ego maniac. He’s out of control, even if it’s just rhetoric. Do the right thing for once and impeach him.

Also she’s just commenting on her experience of the first few weeks in parliament. She isn’t writing an economic dissertation.

Well she does have a point that many MPs don’t understand the real struggles. Look how many MPs pose for photos at food banks & not understanding why people need to use them. Labour has described PIP as pocket money when it’s essential support. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Oh and capitalism. As we saw with covid, capitalism can’t handle pandemics & social security. It takes from the system to support the top only

These are the people our politicians demonise & think are the problem. And I will chuck in some Manchester Labour Cllrs into that circle. Let’s give Renaker loads of loans for luxury flats 🙄

Whereas their circumstances are simply the outcome of crap political systems & bad policies.

At another charity centre, they focus on homeless and there were families desperate for support who have been let down by system. Seeing kids standing wearing a well worn coat & knackered shoes and a suitcase was heartbreaking.

The basics are unaffordable. They’ve been pushed to the limit & relying on food banks and most who I spoke to are in work.
At a charity centre, they help disabled people & so many are stressed about Labour’s upcoming slashes in support. These are people who are not able to work.

Over the past 2 weeks I’ve been doing work events at community centres, churches, charities & although I know how hard life is right now, it opened my eyes even more just how much people from all backgrounds are properly struggling. Their circumstances are well beyond their control.

Got my new council tax bill and it’s gone up again *siiiiiggggghhh*.
I’ve already had to cut back on so much due to other bill increases and I could have done without this.
