It was a copic marker kinda day~
DLSS 5 is every AAA game company CEO’s dream. Build the absolute minimum and use AI to generate everything else on cloud hosted nVidia hardware because who can afford five 5090s.
Project Hail Mary was a fantastic film.
Everyone should go see it and definitely check out the book first if you’re into that sort of thing.
Pokémon Pokopia is a very fun game BUT it plays like it was built by someone who has never seen Minecraft.
There are so many easy quality of life improvements that could be made by mimicking basic Minecraft controls but instead Game Freak seems to want you to suffer.
I’m looking for resources to teach Swift concurrency in Swift 6 to other engineers. Ideally similar to the objc io swift concurrency book.
Particularly interested in strategies to avoid unstructured concurrency and Mutexes, since that’s the stumbling blocks I’ve seen most.
The Rip was a surprisingly well written cop thriller. Not gonna win any awards but thoroughly enjoyable.

I haven’t really seen any “real work” being done which I realize is confirmation bias.
I see people talking about how much more productive they are with AI tools but I assume they are using it for actual work so they can’t exactly blog freely about it.
I definitely exist in an anti-AI bubble which I’m trying to break out of.
But nearly every “thought leader” I get exposed to usually is just posting some variation of “I was lazy so I used AI to create a todo app” or “I ported an open source library to XYZ language”.
As a Canadian it pains me to say this, but Nanoleaf makes the absolute worst smart lights.
I should have just stuck with Philips Hue which were bulletproof for nearly a decade.
TIL that OpenAI doesn’t allow you to change your email address help.openai.com/en/articles/...
I guess this is understandable for a startup. Maybe once they are worth $10 trillion they’ll get the resources they need to allow this.
Unfortunately the matchmaking has continued to decline to the point where ARC Raiders has tipped over to the “not fun” side.
Definitely wouldn’t recommend it to anyone in its current state.
It will be interesting to see when ARC Raiders eventually details their matchmaking algorithm.
For my first 20 hours they definitely seemed to be putting me with players who were more talkative and forgiving.
But recently I seem to be getting put into games where no one talks and shoots on sight.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it. I’ve always wanted to play those games but heard I should start from the beginning which was an easy excuse to procrastinate.
Have you played the previous games in the franchise?
I have scattered citrus chunks around my property line as the final attempt to deter skunks following the Geneva Conventions.
If this fails it will become todo list instead.
It really is impressive how quickly Battlefield 6 is trying to kill itself. They seem obsessed with fragmenting their player base amongst new modes rather than releasing big Battlefield style maps.
It really is amazing how even after 10+ years Apple Watch apps that need to make on-demand network requests are functionally unusable.
They just spin loading indicators until you get tired and pull your phone out.
After this Blue Jays loss I’ve reached the same place as I have with the Maple Leafs.
Life is just too short to waste so much energy cheering for Toronto sports teams.
Battlefield 6’s downfall will be its maps.
At this moment there isn’t a map / game mode I want to play over the others. Just ones that I avoid like the plague.
A similar quote from Doom Eternal is also very apt

Also, the number of companies that don’t notify / require access to your existing email is kinda scary.
Just having access to a password shouldn’t allow me to change the email of an account. Either validate using the existing email or require a security question or 2FA.
It is shocking how untested the change email flow is for so many companies.
Several times I’ve had it confirm the change went through but it didn’t.
Now I’m unable to log in to the app after changing the email successfully on the website 🤷🏻♂️
Never heard of it but then again I was only looking at the default search options in Safari. I’ll give a try and see how it goes.
I tried DuckDuckGo for a week but it just doesn’t have the same level of data as Google.
Numerous times a day DuckDuckGo couldn’t give me an answer so I’d copy the query over to Google and get it immediately.
