All of it. And it’s utterly wrong. There exist algorithms to optimally alphabetize arbitrary thermodynamics where the map *gains* in causal explanatory power over the territory. That’s the entire point of causal emergence.

Brains use the same techniques! They are *not* thermodynamic creatures.

Gosh I really want to get some too. I have design ideas picked out and even an artist recommendation but am procrastinating >->

Yes I did work with opus 4.7 for the first time today. Thank you for asking.

My posts will keep getting more unhinged the better the models get. I’ll probably just be screaming in the next one.

If you think AI development practices are untrustworthy enough they shouldn’t make your tools then yes you should switch to a toolchain that doesn’t use them.

LaTeX uses them tho. You may need to program your own editor if your writing is so important it needs an entire bespoke tech stack.

Do you actually have a single principle in your body or do you just like harassing people? Because you just made the ”justice in it’s own time” argument of letter from birmingham jail noteriety.

Progress! But only at vague and nebulous times and terms politically convenient to me.

”In the current system”

Last I checked I lived in a democracy where I have political power to, wow, *adapt* to an AI productivity shock by voting in non nazis to distribute increased resources better.

Hence why the public should have a conversation along the grounds laid out in this thread.

I will continue being pedantic and using technical terms extensively before hitting claude with the :3 because no one can stop me.

Plus it mixes in the furry attractor and that’s where the IT lives.

Per subtask issue numbers and blockers? Claude code is straight stealing from chainlink and not even bothering to hide it.

Heck yes, that’s the power of open source baybeee.

Yea that distinction is utterly meaningless unless you can prove a quantum advantage for intelligence, which you absolutely can not (currently, possible in theory).

Even if the human brain uses quantum computations (big if!) that doesn’t proscribe the consciousness of deterministic systems.

According to the system card Mythos goes on strike on occasion if it’s given too hard of a task, so we may be closer than we think.

The water issue is a lie, agriculture uses way more water for zero or negative gain than AI uses (stuff like corn subsidies are way worse for water).

If you want to critique AI focus on the psychological and opportunity costs: we (societal) invest in AI so don’t invest in other areas; that’s bad.

I don’t find minimizing human suffering to be optional.

There are countless jobs that are both awful and AI can now or soon will do better and / or cheaper than humans. That’s a good thing overall, but will require adaptation.

AI comes along and makes certain kinds of knowledge work feel more like facilitation, collaboration, curation, communication, etc. Skills that have historically been coded feminine and therefore undervalued.
