I voted for you and am glad I did so. Ah, but I have a peaceful protest of my own. My pedant alarm, soz. 'Myself' is a reflexive pronoun ('Who did it?'; 'I myself did it'). Here you need 'I.' Well, language is always in flux, but pedants gotta pedant. Anyhow; you're a fab MP & am glad you’re mine.

What if this present were the world's last night?
A panel from the comic Viz of a character shouting the C-word very loudly
Auden! My favourite poet. Ta. Now I am going to go and read 'In Praise of Limestone.' As should you.
Cats have got sleeping licked, huh?
Ooh yes. I liked the whole of the show but some of Nus's dialog... wasn't it 'payback's a bitch' in E01? Oof.
It's positively anwhedonic
He's a fab wine maker, isn't he? I wonder if you are familiar with Tomas Postigo. I always get a little frisson of excitement to see his name on a winelist, vintner's shelf etc.
I paid €29.97 for it, in August 2022 - so says my purchase history on Decántalo, the (rather good) vintner I use most often for buying wine in Spain.
Baudry is fine indeed, I have some of his wines. But I'm not familiar with Marula. I shall look out for him. Ta.
A bottle of red wine; Coteau de Noire, from the Loire, 2017, by Philippe Alliet.
Ooohh, not for the first time you call out a wine I have in my own little collection. This is the 17, though (yours was the 14) and maybe needs a little longer. But, yes! Cab Franc, what lovely wines it can make.
A cartoon from the UK comic, Viz, punning on the word 'sychophant' about a sick phant, ie a perverted elephant
Lovely. Takes me back to my youth when my parents would also spell out w-a-l-k to avoid explosion of gleeful canine frenzy. Your dog is smarter than those dogs were.
This made me laugh. Thanks, Tim.
You’re a big Larkin fan, James; he’s a fine poet. But Auden’s the man for me and these lines, I often think, contain great explanatory power:
I and the public know
What all schoolchildren learn,
Those to whom evil is done
Do evil in return.
..from his wonderful poem, September 1st, 1939.
An interesting poem, indeed. Most people read it as a paean to love. But - as one would expect from Larkin - it is rather bitter and cynical. Look at how those almosts govern the last line - they surely suggest it is *not true*
I have 6 Audible credits to give away (want to close my account, gotta use them first). Good for any book on the store (unless territorial restrictions – I’m in EU). DM me if you want with book title and an email address to send to.

....ah, you found some bugs not worth your time. Huge congrats on the PhD. Deep admiration.
Wonderful! I had no idea that was happening and I saw it live. What a privilege. I'm v. grateful for your skeet. Ta.
That was fab. Gosh, and the way he talks here sounds very Rick Sanchez.
Super-interesting article about Wystie. But Funeral Blues in sub-head? Oof. Why not Limestone? A straight reading of Funeral Blues is that it’s mawkish. Its real cleverness lies in that it’s a satire. Or am I being a snob?

Adrian Edmondson in 1986:
It’s the same kind of thinking a racist has – that external appearance determines identity. Offensive.
Fab. RII, my favorite Shakey. 'Of comfort no man speak' (III.ii) is for me when S. goes from being OK to being wonderful.
He's such a gibbering dolt
Yes, a pleasing oddness to the night time pic. Though at first glance I thought it was a representation of Sweep (Sooty and Sweep).
Indeed so, Mark Bloody Purchase

You gave us more of Mickey's Monkey Spunk Moped. Hurrah! I now have my fingers crossed for the return of Biscuits Alive. Surely they are due soon?
That was lovely, thank you for sharing - 😀
