Record Store Day success. But I will add: every day is record store day if you truly believe in yourself and try.

Posted this yesterday but I guess it was during the blackout. Mood isn't quite as high today but I'm still very excited about the project.

I'm in the mood to share some good news. Happy to say I'll have an essay included in this book on "Pleromatica" from Urbanomic Press. The publication deadline has been pushed back a bit but the collection should be a lot of fun.

Got to see Dr. A.S.W. Rosenbach's collection of Melville housed in Melville's own bookcase. Pretty damn cool.

Selfie with headstone that says "Such is life".

Selfie with headstone that says "Such is life".

I live next to an old cemetery, and I take the Boy for a walk there almost every evening. I think this is my favorite stone I've found thus far. Such is life indeed.

My hero, (the other) Chuck Norris - The Boston Globe My stepdad is far from an action star, but he came through for me when it counted.

I am constantly asked (jokingly at first) if I'm related to Chuck Norris, and I have to respond "yes, but not that one".

If you'd like to read a really nice piece about a very kind man who died a decade ago, a family member wrote this about my grandfather Chuck:

Several books on Fichte, climate, and the concept of prehistory, with a beer.

Cooking up something weird for the North American Fichte Society. This one should be fun to share.

Yeah this is my HoP point. For Jacobi, the problem of the Good was just the tip of the iceberg.

At least it's from OUP so I'll never be able to afford to read it.

It bums me out that the history of philosophy is sidelined and this kind of shit get published by prestigious university presses. No offense intended to the author or reviewer of course, but damn.

Pretty wild that artificial "intelligence" managed to render students obsolete before teachers insofar as I would still have to grade all this slop.

Honestly didn't see that coming.

I'd highly recommend that the "this is not who we are" crowd check out the last chapter of "Mariners, Renegades and Castaways" by C.L.R. James in which he recounts his detention at and eventual deportation from Ellis Island in the 1950s.

"In what way were the ends of justice served by this?"(143).

Might have broken the Modern kid's brains, but I've never had more students participate in a discussion than with "On Bullshit". Highly recommend.
