Instant mood lift music. Not to be confused with lift music.
100% re Ultravox. Always struggled a little with SP - not sure why but never quite hit the spot for me.
Cool me back in the day would pontificate about how Foxx's departure was it for me while secretly enjoying Midge's efforts (e.g.Hymn) even at their most overblown! Lament is one of my favourites.

Vinyl Fixx on Wednesday and Record Plant on Friday. Highlight of the trip to Leeds this week was my grandson of course, but an hour in each of these fine establishments a notable bonus!
Good to find Queen Jane with her postcards intact. Lots of 50p finds among this lot!

Not sure! We had something that was sold as quiche but was very, very sweet - like a cross between a creme brulé and a new York style cheesecake?
That Cat's the same Cat that I picked up in Barcelona last month!

Stole an hour in Revolution Records in Penge. Lovely people there and so relaxed. Buzzcocks was a must.
Many were from the 3 for £2 or 4 for a quid bins. Get down there!
Shall be up a ladder most of today 🤞
My thoughts entirely. Had a few conversations on here - a thoughtful, generous man. As well as a lot of music I am proud that we share a surname and a football team!

Hi Lauren - there's reference to a single of yours and a plea for the bonus track?

There are 2 (plus the occasional pop-up and a handful of reasonable charity shops.
My favourite is called Morps - Haynes Lane Market. Love the fella who runs it. Also Sound Vinyl in Church Road. Both well worth a visit.
Sound Vinyl has moved recently - same road but further up towards the cinema.
There you go, Andrew.
I tried the email address for the free bonus track. Still waiting, although it didn't bounce back.

Good afternoon dear friends.
Brixton, Crystal Palace and Reckless.
Some proper random bits!

All picked up at Oxfam yesterday.
My first Sultans 45s - had a surreal chat with the cashier as I tried to describe them to him, his expression growing more bemused by the second. Always fun to find promo bits like with the Sade.
Nasty Habits quite a find it seems?
I think I paid 6 or maybe 8 for that Get Back - maybe too much but it will always remind me of a great time in the city.
Don't remember The Twins at all?

Lovely bits and pieces from my trip to watch my boy do his first marathon in Barcelona - 3h:20m as well!
Thanks to @slippydj.bsky.social for pointing me to the right places!
I love some of these sleeves and I make no apology for David Soul or Roger Whittaker.
Happy weekend all.
Thank you for the tips! Made it to Revolver, Daily Records, Impactor and also Discos Parasido!
Will reveal on Saturday.

A further few randoms from recent wanderings - spot in Sydenham that was new to me amongst favourite old haunts. Could you resist the Shadows doing Moonlight Shadow? Probably!
Off to Barcelona today - 1st visit - my son is running the Marathon. Any tips for records, 45s especially?

36 inches for a Tuesday.

Confession time -picked this up yesterday at the excellent BHF bookshop in Streatham without looking at it properly - I actually thought it was a Billy MacKenzie solo record. It was dark and I was in a hurry...yeah, right.
This fella was a member of Slik, apparently?
Love you all
Bat Out of Hell sounded better then perhaps than it does now but it still makes an appearance on the TT every now and then. I was late to the Fleetwood Mac party but love them now. Ferry for me is like Morrissey - love the music but not the man.
Definitely backed the Germans in the Sound of Music.
I had that years and years ago on a cassette. Picked up a copy on vinyl not that long ago!
It Bites - definitely one of those 80s chuck it all at the wall and see what sticks outfits.
I do have all 4!
Auteurs and Dexys. Essentials
Chords ❤️

Revolution (Penge) and Morps (Crystal Palace) are my default stops these days, plus a couple of Oxfam Bloomsbury.
Ride On Time was such a bolt from the blue. I was still busy trying to be Indie cool back then but it was irresistible. I think I bought it and an Aerosmith single on the same day - farewell to worrying and hello to who gives a f**k.
That one album is one of my most played. Some excellent B sides too.
I think a follow up was in the pipeline but never really saw an official release? TBH I doubt that the debut could have been bettered.
Good tip.
I'm reluctant at the moment to break its time capsule loveliness - it's still in its original airfix style snap off pre assembly state!
