She jumped back and stumbled to her knees. As the hall grew dark once more, a peal of thunder drowned her startled scream and a ghostly white after-image floated in her vision.
It was a dark and stormy night. Floorboards creaked under bare feet as she moved cautiously down the hall, carrying muddy boots in one hand. She crept around the corner, head turning, eyes wide, peering into the darkness. Suddenly, lightning flashed, illuminating the apparition standing before her.

As the night wound down, the common room slowly emptied around them. Tired and drunk patrons stumbled up the stairs to their rooms one or sometimes two (or three) at a time. The shorter man was chattering endlessly while Ganz’s eyes remained locked on him, a tender smile on his face. Ramm’s breath halted as he watched the pair. Had they seen him? No, by all appearances, those two weren't aware of anyone else in the tavern, or anyone else on the star for that matter.

Roxy regards them as she would wild animals or forces of nature, with due caution. She follows the arbitrary rules she was taught to avoid greenwrath, just as she follows other Shroud survival training.
Now, the people who "hear" and "interpret" the elementals are another thing entirely.
