One of the editors let go today from Mad Cave isn't on here -- Gabrielle Milano. I got to work with her briefly on THE OCTOBER GIRL and if YOU ever get a chance to work with her, I highly recommend that you do. Her editorial career is just getting started, but she already has the goods.

Layoffs suck, but there's something about comic industry layoffs that just really guts me. These are dream jobs for people. Often childhood dreams that against all odds have actually come true. And then poof! You're on your own. It's just crushing.

Even though we didn't get to work together, @jamesbemmett.bsky.social was always there to answer any questions I had when I was pitching comics. He even took the time to hop on call with me to go over industry developments, trying to give me a better shot at succes. I'm very grateful still.
Just found out that Chas was laid off too, which makes me even sadder. When I was still a newcomer in the world of comics he made me feel so welcome. He always believed in me, even when a pitch got rejected and was always in my corner. Really sad to hear this :(
