Right? He was such a fierce critic of curmudgeons like Bob Ryan. And now he's like if Bob Ryan got even more curmudgeonly.

I'm ashamed to remember the time I liked Bill Simmons. It was a long fucking time ago, but I was a moron.
lol, freaking out rapidly in this household!
Wow, I have the brightly colored office chair for you!
I would cross the street to avoid someone wearing it.
Yup, Punk sucks, but get your camera out of people's faces. They shouldn't even have to tell you.
This guy doesn't seem half bad, but it also seems like Dayton is overreacting to going too slow to pick up players from the portal last season.
Still no real point guard on the roster.
Taking a break from my reread of The Expanse main novels to read the novellas, which I have not read.
Look forward to hearing my inane opinions with more rapid frequency!
Don't even get me started on "gaming chairs"
Almost everything marketed to gamers is the dumbest shit ever. Gfuel makes me chortle every time I encounter it.
Oh, you made Crystal Light for gamers? Congrats!
I have zero interest in Opera browser, but I looked it up on Flatpak, and this is the beginning of its description:
"Opera GX: THE gaming browser for powerful players
Opera GX doesn't play by regular browser rules. It isn't here to blend in. It's here to take over."
Haha, no thanks.
I had to check the date on that article for that exact reason.
The Democrats don't have a ton going for them, but "Dershowitz isn't one of us" is at least something.
Per PackInsider, De'Shayne Montgomery is on a visit to NC State.
Still hoping he might come back to UD, but definitely not a bad place for him.
And yes, if you're wondering, I actually really like Star Trek Enterprise. I think that Bakula is the worst part of it, but at least he has a cute dog.
Vulcans becoming friends with humans (or just humanish species) has always been gold for Star Trek.
Kicked off with of course Spock and Kirk, but Tuvoc and Neelix and Trip and T'Pol are also excellent.
In the first three seasons, the Neelix/Kes shit was the WORST part of the show. But once Kes left, they figured out that only Tuvoc had the correct frisson with Neelix, and their episodes (other than the Tuvix one, which is fun but dumb as shit) were a real highlight of the back half of the series.
Voyager S07E22 Homestead
Voyager finds some Talaxians hiding in an asteroid. This would normally be a 4/5, BUT the interactions between Neelix and Tuvoc are 10/5. This is our farewell to Neelix!
5/5
I also forgot how much the book hated Ashford. Dude was the absolute worst! Even though he had a troubled start on the TV show, the performance by David Strathairn made him so compelling.
I really didn't enjoy most of this book. But the last fifth? Sixth? was good enough to redeem it.
I was BEGGING to go back to the Holden POVs for most of the book.
The scenes with him and protomolecule Miller were basically the best parts of the book.
I feel like the TV adaptation made this whole thing so much more digestible, but I'd have to rewatch it to be sure.
. . .
And her POVs were repetitive and boring as hell for 4/5ths of the book. Still better than Anna's I suppose, but this is what you get for sending a representative of the most milquetoast Protestant denomination, Methodism, into space. So at least that tracks as accurate.
. . .
I really forgot how I felt about this one.
It's a good book! But it's definitely the weakest of the first three.
The biggest problem is the POVs. We went from Avasarala, Bobbie and Prax to Anna, Clarissa and Buck.
Clarissa is the only one of the three I give a shit about.
. . .
Oh boy. Abaddon's Gate (Expanse book 3)
I have a lot of thoughts on this one.
It sets up all the important things for down the line, but a lot of it feels so contrived. (Anna chasing Clarissa in space suits? Clarissa somehow ending up in the control center with Ashford?)
. . .
We should leave the orcas at least a few boats to capsize, though. That seems to spark joy for them.
Voyager S07E20 Frienship One
A delta quadrant species has destroyed their planet using technology that humans shared via a probe, and they're blaming Voyager/humanity in general. The premise itself is fairly thin gruel, but the execution is very good.
4/5
I wouldn't really care except for the biting bushes part. The dog has killed several plants in our apartment complex because of it. Several others are denuded.
Walking the dog with my partner is so stressful.
She lets the dog drag her around. She lets the dog bite the bushes when she gets overexcited. She lets the dog chase after the scooters.
Our dear dog doesn't do any of those things with me.
*possession!
It was funnier when he was burning the shit out of Julius Randle, but it was fine because Randle was taking every other defensive position off.
@papapishu.bsky.social Picked up a pair of the EH11's after reading your article and am really enjoying them!
The UI of the app is the devil, though. No designers involved in that bad boy.
