Agree with your commentary's conclusion. Govmt does not want to address illegal persecution as that would open a Pandora's box of uncomfortable truths about the shooting lobby. Best left as is.

Very glad to see Spain is not part of this biased "coalition". Well done 🇪🇦
Good news - High Court rules parts of Dartmoor have been mismanaged!
Overgrazing has been damaging protected sites on Dartmoor.

Brilliant result from our legal challenge about overgrazing on Dartmoor ⚖️
Now the Dartmoor Commoners' Council must fulfil its statutory duty & urgently make appropriate assessments of stocking densities & reduce the number of sheep where overgrazing is apparent.

And still, some try to reintroduce extinct species into Britain, to be poached or culled under licence when these species so much as slightly bother the powerful livestock lobby. Deluded strategy.
BREAKING: Head gamekeeper Racster Dingwall pleads guilty to conspiracy to kill a Hen Harrier at York Magistrates Court this morning.
My point was about your pointing out the relevance of"killing with kindness".
I haven't published anything. You are the published scientist here and yet somehow you continue to miss my point. Oh well, it must be that I'm not as clever as you scientists are...
I don't think I have declared to have anything against evidence? My point was against narrow focus on one practice when there are other contributory factors to a problem that are not addressed. BTW gamebird releases do contribute to disease spread. This is evidence-based.
As long as all contributing factors are allowed to continue with no limits (incl. tens of millions of gamebirds released in the wild annually in the UK by the shooting lobby) it'd be unfair to 'blame' garden feeding.
'Hundreds' of UK Peregrines targeted for illegal falconry trade in Middle East.
Unsurprisingly, those with a vested interest in legal trade of captive-bred falcons downplay the scale of illegal laundering or claim it doesn't exist at all.

It is abhorrent how the English rural way of life is decimating wildlife everywhere, with total impunity. Yorkshire seems to be a hotspot of vicious crimes against raptors. To me, everything from Yorkshire is tainted.

Governments continue to allow industry to have huge houses containing hundreds of thousands of birds, in full knowledge that avian flu is here to stay. It should be illegal to risk thousands of birds' health and welfare on a yearly basis just to allow industry profits.
Most Americans put him in the position he is in now.
Too late to be sorry as "most of you" put him where he is now
Remember the US military budget is mostly funded by debt partly held and funded by European countries.
Time to reverse.
The finance oligarchs know what's at stake and will put a stop to this madness. Otherwise, it's crash of the US bond market and of Wall Street as a whole.

Loopholes and knowledge of a huge, and ever increasing, gap in enforcement capability is what these "countryside" industries use to get away with the illegal activities that are inherent to their existence.
