"learning to actually see the world around you" is the most appealing pitch for a game that I've heard all year.
This is also not to say that there isn't real harm being done. There is. But anyone interested in "existential risk" needs to turn their head until "runaway climate change" and yes, unfortunately, "nuclear war" enter their field of vision.
This is in no way an endorsement of Dario Amodei, Elon Musk, or any of that set. Heaven forfend.
In this time of heightened anxiety about "AI" and incendiary comments, I want to do my part to de-escalate the rhetoric. Specifically, I want to offer a rebuttal to Eliezer Yudkowsky's "If Anyone Builds It, Everyone Dies."

Altman, Amodei and others have been spouting misinformation about what LLMs ("AI") can and will do, and feeding AI doomerism for years, all as part of their highly successful attempt to attract venture capital investment in AI as "the biggest thing ever."
It has to stop.
Sharing this in part as a reminder to myself.
