carpet of bluebells in a wood. green leaves of the plant, single stem of flowers. just perfect. took our breath away as it was so beautiful.
We were not expecting this on our day-off walk yesterday.
A full carpet of bluebells stretching in all directions. A haze of blue. Beautiful scent in the air.
What a way to welcome April.

Definitely not new, Liverpool have been doing it for years, and so you'd imagine some analysis was put into it. Kick off goes back to a player who hoofs it deep to one flank, often the left. Challenges the opposition defence to be sharp, and lets your own team settle into shape, for pressing etc
In the New Statesman this week, I channel just some of my hatred toward AI Hype into 900 words.
On the grifters and rubes surfing a bubble atop a pyramid, and the economy-shattering fraud the rest of us can no longer escape.

Time for yet another megathread of my favourite satellite pics.
This time I have 123 images processed by me in 2025 *.
Various dates, random places.
Most of them were taken by Sentinel-2, some by S-3 and one or two by Landsat.
*There's one more pic that isn't mine, but it's so good 😊
Great piece and gets to the nub of the issue: "As with blockchain, crypto, NFTs, and virtual reality simulacra like the Metaverse, AI is just the next big open wallet beckoning cash for an industry that last innovated a great, saleable product a decade ago"
The wheel tracks of the Perseverance Mars rover meandering across the Martian landscape...
I usually post widefield colour "postcard" views of Mars, but today, just for a change, here's a rather more abstract view for you all... Perseverance's tracks meandering across the Martian landscape... Hope you like it! Image Credit: NASA/JPL-Caltech/ASU/S Atkinson

Would this work with Zurgo, Thunder's Decree - preventing warrior tokens from being sac'd?
The Pleiades cluster of stars showing blue nebulosity with fainter star dots around.
I did a bit more processing with my Pleiades picture from the other day. 🔭 🧪 🎨 #astrophotography #SciArt #photography #StormHour #ThePhotoHour
In my gig-going years they've only played here 6 times (Dublin). Will be bringing my two sons to see them twice next June, right on my 50th!
Much respect for the Orbtial to Metallica variety - two of my faves too (just haven't see Metallica live yet)
Next year includes:
Deftones
Metallica
Pantera
Sepultura

I listen to Music for the Jilted Generation more now than I did 30 years ago. It's aged brilliantly
Yeah I'd have loved to see them with Keith. Their set at Glasto this year was great, even if just on TV
I'm really hoping they do a 30 year anniversary tour for In Sides, but anytime I've seen them it's been great
Introduce yourself with 5 concerts you've seen
Orbital
Massive Attack
dEUS
Super Furry Animals
