“Three days is a really short time to heal…” She taps her lips in thought. “Even by Rider standards.” Her weight shifts from side to side as she sways. “You’re a super hero right?”

“Yeah, man! They well up, that’s why you gotta ice em and stuff. Keeps the inflammation down,”

“I’d hate to have both my eyes swollen shut though… how will I go to work?”

“One black eye is better than two black eyes!”

it’s all a dream; after all, most of her wants and desires centered around ace.

and yet— his offer snaps her back to reality (oops, there goes gravity). cori almost stumbles on air, a blush still sitting on her pretty features.

“wait, uhm! but i… wanted to offer you me-“

“-!”

steam would leave her ears if they could, in a very cartoonish like manner. instead, her temperature rises, and once again her ahoge curls in delight.

“what?” cordelia breathes out, unaware of just how much air ace had stolen from her.

“has anyone seen that guy with the skunk highlights?”

pouty, glossy lips part. the adoration bleeds out of her chest and paints itself on her tanned, rosy expression.

“you figured…” cori echoes, albeit confused. “you’d make time for me?”

she watches him with hunger, with want, with desire. it might be apt to even say greedily. and, his words are taken to heart. she always takes them to heart.

“o-oh, i didn’t mean to s—“

but when she takes her chin? cori stops, and she tenses. a slight shiver craws up her spine.

perhaps what’s left over from the today’s daylight should have been a sign. she looks up, with need and warmth at ace.

wait, really? who did he hear that from? oops. she’s a little embarrassed.

“uhm-“ cordelia gets up quickly and smooths out her skirt.

“y-yeah, i was. were you busy?”

sign, sign for what? to stop looking for ace or something far more drastic and unethical to her beating heart? just the thought alone forces a shaky breath out of her chest, and cordelia slumps against a light pole.

her kitten heels gently hit the ground as she navigates the avenues that surround tokyo's sky tower.

"mm... maybe this is a sign," cordelia mutters to herself.

why is it that whenever cordelia wanted ace to show up, he never did? she's been wandering these streets for what seems like ages. the sun was starting to set, and the buildings were not as familiar as she had liked them to be.
