In 2022, Lumikha was impacted by a fraud attack that left the platform with nearly $2,000 in payment processor debt. While the main focus of this campaign is making the platform sustainable going forward, one-time donations also help reduce that balance and move Lumikha toward a healthier future.

we as a community have so much to be proud of!

i have loved creating a space for cosplayers to buy and sell their costumes. but running a marketplace comes with real monthly costs. To keep the platform online - including hosting, platform infrastructure, a custom homepage, and essential tools - Lumikha costs about $350 per month to operate. For most of the past five years, these costs have been covered personally. My goal now is to make Lumikha sustainable through community support rather than relying on one person to keep it running.

We have so much to be proud of as a community!

It's been such a joy to meet other like-minded cosplayers and help folks rehome their costumes.

I hope we can have more open conversations about what comments are really uncomfortable to hear in cosplay!

I'm sure a lot of people don't mean any harm, but hearing people "other" your cosplay can really hurt and make a cosplayer feel different when they should get the happiness of being complimented just like anyone else.

At my first con (2015), someone said "Your "Black Nico" cosplay is amazing!"

It was supposed to be nice, but...

Why couldn't they have just said what a great Nico Yazawa cosplay I was doing?

DO's: Compliment other cosplayers on their cosplay! Greet fellow cosplayers with excitement over your shared love Ask questions about a cosplayer's work Have fun with cosplay! DONT'S Specify their gender, race, disability in a compliment. Treat cosplayers like their characters...they aren't! Expect full tutorials on how a cosplayer created their costume Feel like you have to be a "content creator"
