The schedule stuff seems to get tougher and tougher every time I get a refill—most recently my MD of 20+ years had to switch medical groups, and it came with all sorts of new restrictions.

When my insurance switched its network for “preferred pharmacies” I did not, because the extra $100/year I pay is 100% worth the fact that my regular place has not messed up a prescription in 10 years.

This has always hit hard for me because my first in-person encounter with proto-MAGA evangelical conservatism was courtesy of a guy in my freshman dorm who was from Flower Mound.

The line here about “the cynical ones” has been resonating a lot with me recently. There’s good reason to fight, and there’s always room for hope.
